I understand that this is an application to Cat Rescue & Adoption Network (CRAN) and is neither a promise of nor a commitment to any volunteer opportunity. I certify that the information I is true and complete to the best of my knowledge. I understand that misrepresentations or omissions may be cause for my immediate rejection from a present or future volunteer position.

Waiver
I recognize and understand the inherent risks associated with the care of animals, including but not limited to the possibility of any injury to person and/or property which I may suffer as a result of the unpredictable nature and/or provocation of animals. I understand that rescue animals may carry transmissible diseases which may be spread to me, my family, and/or my personal pets. I agree to take the proper precautions to minimize these risks. I will not hold CRAN responsible for any illness to me, my family, and/or my personal pet or any other animal under my care as a result of cross contamination from a CRAN rescue cat.

In wishing to volunteer my time and services for Cat Rescue & Adoption Network(CRAN) I hereby acknowledge that CRAN is doing everything they can to protect the public as well as myself as a volunteer. To this extent, I agree to follow Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and local health district guidelines and CRAN policies and procedures for social distancing to reduce the spread of Novel Coronavirus, or COVID-19. This will require me to maintain six (6) feet of distance between myself, fellow volunteers, and patrons of the organization as much as possible. This procedure will be required for visitor-to-visitor contact as well to limit exposure.

I agree to utilize surgical masks or improvised masks such as scarves, bandanas, and handkerchiefs to reduce the risk of exposure to myself and others. I agree to wash or sanitize my hands after using the restroom, sneezing, and coughing, and before eating or preparing meals or sundries for distribution, and will properly wear and utilize sterile gloves.

I understand that there is no direct medical health coverage afforded to me during my relationship with CRAN. CRAN is not responsible for any potential exposure to Novel Coronavirus, or COVID-19, which is not a direct result of negligence on the part of their employees, volunteers, or the organization. Unless specifically stated in writing, I understand that there is no Oregon State Labor and Industries employment security insurance provided to me.

I further understand that Cat Rescue & Adoption Network carries no personal and/or liability insurance for volunteers and that I should obtain such from a personal source should I require it.

I understand that I will receive no pay, benefits or other privileges of employment of any kind for my services. I am not eligible for worker’s compensation benefits if I am injured or become ill as a result of my volunteer work, and I am not eligible for unemployment compensation benefits if or when my volunteer assignment ends. I also certify that I have not been promised and have no expectation that I will receive a paid position as a result of my volunteer work.

In consideration of the mutual promises of the parties contained in this Waiver, or of the acts to be performed by either, the parties agree that I knowingly and voluntarily waive any and all claims, damages or causes of action which I may have or incur against Cat Rescue & Adoption Network, its officers, directors, agents, affiliates and employees as a result of my donation of time and effort. We are all volunteers!
