Bruno
BRUNO is a large and very handsome young black and gray tabby boy with medium length hair and dashing white highlights, about 2 years old. He is quite the manly guy, and if you like talkers and "trillers", Bruno is your man! He is quite vocal and has an opinion on darn near everything. He is very affectionate, and gets so enthusiastic sometimes that he'll actually mash his face into yours for kissable purposes. Bruno is an active fellow, and bounds here and there, wanting to be around you. He is very non-confrontational and can be a little intimidated by other cats, but he seems nonreactive to friendly dogs (with a slow introduction). He was found as a friendly stray living outdoors (and was neutered with an ear tip), so he will likely be happiest as an indoor-outdoor kitty in a home with a VERY safe outdoor environment. Bruno is a healthy boy who has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (he is negative), has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet exam. For adoption consideration, complete an online application at www.CatRescues.org/forms or paper copy available at either Eugene PetSmart store. Once we have your application, a volunteer will call to determine best fit and arrange a meet/greet at Bruno's current home. Sister Sludge
Looking for a super friendly, fun and playful cat to add to your family? SISTER SLUDGE, also known as Sissy might just be the perfect new family member for you. She is an adorable and friendly young female kitty, mostly white with gray/brown tabby markings. Sissy is estimated to be about a year old. She likes everyone she meets and enjoys her pets. Just like the hit song, "We are Family", from the group, her name comes from, Sister Sledge, Sissy loves and wants to be with her family. Sissy purrs and purrs when you give her attention. She gives lots of rubs and head bumps. The feather toy and the laser point are her all time favorites. She is fine with being picked up but doesn't like to be held for long. She would be fine in a home with kids as long as they are gentle with cats. Sissy will most likely be fine with a slow introduction to another friendly cat or dog (she is just curious about the cats and dog in her foster home). Sissy also loves to eat and definitely has been trying to make up for her time on her own. She's put some weight on in her foster home so she's on a diet so she can get her girlish figure back. Sissy was found underweight in a sludge lagoon and actually ran up to her rescuer. Attempts to locate her owners were unsuccessful and Sissy went to live in a loving foster home with TLC. Sister Sludge has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), was already spayed when she was rescued, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free wellness exam. Meet Sister Sludge in her foster home with an approved adoption application which can be submitted online at www.CatRescues.org/forms or a paper copy available at either Eugene PetSmart, Petco (Valley River Rd.) or Wags! Nadia
NADIA is a fluffy dark tortoiseshell female kitten with orange tabby stripes, about 3 1/2 months old. She is somewhat docile and shy but immediately starts her long purr motor once she is comfortable and relaxed with you. Nadia has a cute squeaky meow and enjoys all types of petting except for belly rubs. When she sees you, she tends to roll around on her back to display her unique affection and excitedly purrs with love when she receives head and chin rubs. Nadia never stops chasing anything that moves, enjoying the laser pointer, strings, wands, and cat dancers. She is particularly fond of her high-quality wet food and colorful cat-toy springs. After a long play session, you will find her snoozing on a comfy cat bed or stacks of plush blankets. Nadia was rescued from a colony with other cats, underweight and malnourished, and went to live in a loving foster home. After a hearty wet food diet and some TLC in her foster home, Nadia blossomed into an affectionate and playful little sweetheart. She would do best in a home with gentle, cat-savvy kids as she can be startled by unexpected movement and loud noises. She likes the company of other friendly cats and kittens but tends to be more independent and stands her ground when cornered. Nadia has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free wellness exam. Meet Nadia in her foster home with an approved adoption application which can be submitted online at www.CatRescues.org/forms or a paper copy available at either Eugene PetSmart, Petco (Valley River Rd.) or Wags! NATASHA is a precious fluffy light tortoiseshell female kitten, with a lush orange coat and distinctive black split down the bridge of her nose, about 3 1/2 months old. Natasha is very affectionate, with a purr motor always at the ready. She will reward your attention with head bumps and nuzzles and enjoys rolling around on her back while being petted. Natasha loves being held like a baby, burrowing her head in your arms, or nestling in your lap and will purr vigorously in return for some warmth and affection. She enjoys chasing balls of all kinds and can be a bit silly when she decides to play. Since Natasha prefers the company of people to that of other cats, she would do best in a single cat household with someone who can lavish her with love. Natasha was rescued from a colony with other cats and went to live in a loving foster home. During her time in foster care, she became a sweet and loyal companion to her human foster family. TC
TC is a handsome brown tabby young male kitty with dramatic black stripes. He is estimated to be about 2 years old. TC is very playful and loves strings, toy mice and a scratcher. He's curious about every closed door and cabinet and is quite the explorer. TC can be easily overstimulated, so he would do best in a home with adults who can recognize when it's time to stop playing. He wants to be the only cat in your life and doesn't appreciate small dogs, however, he does tolerate calm, medium or large dogs. He can be independent but adores a good cuddle session and is a champion snuggler. TC was a stray living on the streets before being rescued by a Good Samaritan after realizing he was suffering from a broken leg. After spending time in a loving foster home to recover from his injury (he now has a distinctive gait) and adjust to life indoors, TC is ready for a home of his own! TC has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free wellness exam. SISKIYOU is a docile and sweet solid black male kitten, about 3 months old. In a litter full of black and white siblings Siskiyou is the only completely black kitten, although he does have a few, long white hairs along his back. He may be a bit shy in new surroundings and people, but once he's calm, he will come out of his shell with a purr. He can take his time and likes to play with the fish on a stick toy. He is very gentle and sweet when he plays. Once you convince him to sit in your lap he is there for the long haul. Siskiyou and his siblings were rescued along with their mother when they were found on the back porch of a Good Samaritan's house and the whole family was surrendered to our cat rescue group for fostering. He adores being petted and is looking for a quiet home with an adopter who will continue to help him emerge from his shell. Soleil
SOLEIL is a beautiful brown tabby female kitten with a cute white chin, about 3 months old. Her foster mother describes her personality as being like the sun, which is what her name means in French. Soleil is known as the "brainy" girl in her litter. She often watches her siblings play, while safely snuggled up next to a human friend, until she spots the exact right moment to pounce and join in the fun. She has been known to outsmart her littermates by closing the door on them while they explored a carrier, leaving her to play with all the toys herself! Soleil, her siblings and their mother were rescued as strays and were brought to our cat rescue group for fostering. PIETRO and WANDA "Maximoff" are an inseparable brother-sister bonded pair, about 4 months old. Pietro is a black and white "cow" male kitten with a bold black mask, back and tail. He is a quick and energetic guy who enjoys pouncing on toys, bounces off the walls or cat trees and zooming back and forth non-stop until he is tired. When he isn't speeding around the room, he'll welcome a good cuddle and purr loudly in your arms. Wanda is a fluffy black female kitten with a small white patch on her chest and a silver striped tail. She is a gentle girl who likes to be picked up and has an instant purr motor. While scratching her back, she likes to roll over and look for playful belly rubs. Pietro and Wanda love to carry stuffed toys in their mouths, hop sideways as they play tag with each other and tumble around. Both are very affectionate and get attached to their humans, but require a bit of time to settle in with anyone new. Pietro and Wanda were orphaned at a young age before being rescued by a volunteer from our cat rescue group. Arriving in our care scared and sick, they were lovingly fostered and nursed back to health. Since Pietro and Wanda have such a great understanding of one another, they must be adopted as a bonded pair. They are being offered at a special sponsored fee of $222 for the pair (normally $260 for 2 kittens). Prance
PRANCE is a confident and affectionate, solid white female kitty almost one year young. She is an outgoing girl who shows how much she appreciates you with affectionate little "love nibbles" on your cheek, chin or hand, so Prance will need a human who doesn't get startled by these expressions of her affection and accepts them as part of her wonderful, quirky personality. She would do best in a home with cat-savvy humans (adults, older kids) who will spend a lot of time with her and shower her with attention. She is a heart-stealer who knows what she wants and is looking for the perfect forever home that will love and adore her "no holds barred" approach to life. Pull out a bottle of bubbles and you've got an hour of fun as she chirps for more to chase - what fun! She is not a fan of other cats (however, she is great with dogs) and wants YOU to be her playmate - holding her, petting her, and brushing her, and making a string toy come to life that she can chase! Prance has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free wellness exam. Meet Prance at Petco, 1169 Valley River Drive, Eugene 97401 (open daily 9am to 9pm). Then submit an adoption application for consideration online at www.CatRescues.org/forms) or paper copy available at the store. Her special sponsored adoption fee is $90 (normally $120). MAZAMA is a sweet black and white female kitty with a white bib, feet and blaze on her nose. Her medium length hair is silky and very soft and she is estimated to be about a year old. Mazama is such a sweet and friendly girl! She is incredibly tolerant of small children and loves all people! Mazama will run to greet you at the door, rubbing up against your legs and "talking" with you when you come home. She will follow you around while you do your daily activities. Mazama appeared on the back porch of a Good Samaritan with her five kittens in tow and the whole family was brought to our cat rescue group for fostering. The kittens are now all grown up and Mazama is looking for a forever home to call her own. This darling girl deserves a loving home where she will be the center of lots of love and affection. Mazama has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free wellness exam. WHITESIDE is an attentive black and white tuxedo female kitten, about 4 months old. She is a bit shy and occasionally skittish, but warms up quickly and then wants to play or be held and petted according to her mood. She will nudge you when she wants attention and start purring when she realizes you are going to engage with her. Whiteside and her siblings were born to someone's unfixed friendly mom cat and surrendered to one of our cat rescue group's volunteers as young kittens before being placed in a loving foster home. Whiteside is a low-key girl with some "spunktatude" on occasion, and would make a wonderful addition to your home. As an active and social young kitten, it is very important that Whiteside be adopted into a household with another kitten (such as her sister Jimijean) or another playful young animal in the home. GETHI is a majestic and shiny solid black male kitty with soulful yellow-green eyes, estimated to be around 3 years old. Gethi came to our cat rescue group as a stray who had been taken in by a kind-hearted volunteer after she had noticed him struggling in the neighborhood. After his rough life on the streets, all Gethi wants to do is stay inside and gets lots of love from his human friends. It's hard to find anything that Gethi doesn't like. He loves cuddling, catnip, toys, naps, any kind of food -- and most of all, he loves to flop over like a dog for a belly rub! Gethi adores people and is very gentle. He has tested positive for FIV (the feline immunodeficiency virus), but he is in excellent health, and FIV kitties can live a normal lifespan with good care as an indoor-only cat. The virus can only be transmitted to another cat through a deep bite wound, and can't be transmitted to dogs or to people. Gethi has tested negative for feline leukemia, and has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet wellness exam. They enjoy playing with dangly toys, wiggly toes, laser pointers, catnip puffs, and each other. Flynt and Sable were found outside an apartment complex, presumably abandoned by their mother at 2 months old. They were taken in by our cat rescue group and have spent time in a loving foster home. Originally apprehensive towards humans they both learned to love the cuddles and pats they provide them. Though still a bit scared and jumpy when humans are walking around, they are not shy about jumping up on your lap or next to you when you're sitting down, and asking for a bit of love. They will happily walk over you when you're lying down. KIRA is a very sweet 9-year-old female black and gray tabby with beautiful soft fur. She and her mother Portia were surrendered by a loving home when a divorce occurred. She is initially shy, but once confident in her home she is very human oriented and loves to be with her people - she most likely will become a professional lap cat. She will require a quiet place to get started when acclimating to her new home. Kira purrs readily, will do head rubs and bumps, and enjoys interactive toys like Da Bird. She and her mother are healthy, but are on a prescription kidney diet (which they gobble down), to prevent future problems. They are completely happy living indoors, but could potentially be indoor/outdoor kitties in a home with a VERY safe outdoor environment. Kira is very bonded with Portia and they must be adopted together - thus we are offering them at a special sponsored price of $100 for the pair. She would probably do well with another shy, quiet cat. Bella was part of a colony of neighborhood cats in Eugene, and was taken into a loving foster home where she gave birth to a litter of kittens (all adopted now). Bella subsequently went to the vet where she received "the works" and was given an excellent bill of health. Now this sweet, beautiful girl is awaiting your visit, and hopefully you will make her yours furrever! Bella does very well with other cats in her space, but should not be in a home with children or dogs - she thrives in a peaceful setting! She does appear to be fearful of men as well. Peppermint loves to play and jump onto high places! She is very social and still has a very kitten-like personality, curious and friendly. Peppermint tested positive for the feline leukemia virus (FeLV) but she is currently a healthy girl (we have thoroughly checked her out, and her bloodwork shows the virus has not entered her bone marrow), so the prognosis is good that she has many years of life left in her. He has tested positive for FIV (the feline immunodeficiency virus), but a lifetime as an indoor-only kitty to protect his immune system will likely enable him to lead a normal lifespan. The virus can't be passed to dogs or to people, and only to other cats through a deep bite wound. Beyond this, Stranger is in good health, and has had a complete dental performed. While safest as an only cat, Stranger enjoys the company of other mellow cats, and he does well with friendly dogs. Do you have a quiet home, and are ready for a devoted and loving companion? Stranger has been tested for feline leukemia (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet exam. To visit Stranger in foster care, submit an adoption application online at www.CatRescues.org/forms or a paper copy available at either Eugene PetSmart store, and a volunteer will contact you. His $60 adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. Arthur
ARTHUR is a sweet and handsome short-haired black male kitty estimated to be about 4 years old. He showed up last fall at a farm home in Pleasant Hill, and the owners had him neutered and vetted, thinking that he wanted to be an outside cat. It soon became clear that he is friendly and loving, and they began to allow him into the house. Arthur is a quiet, well-behaved boy who enjoys attention and loves to play. He will mostly spend his time lounging on the couch (see picture), but he has recently started voluntarily getting into his owner's lap. He is cautious of strangers, but is comfortable once he knows them. With a slow introduction, he has gotten along well with the older resident female cat. He loves to spend time outdoors and is an outstanding mouser - but his current owners must sell their farm and move to the city. Arthur would be happiest as an indoor-outdoor kitty on a country property, as he is not used to cars. It is possible that he could be transitioned to a mostly indoor cat in a very safe urban location (such as a cul-de-sac), as he is quite content lying in a warm spot and playing with his toys and scratching pad. Arthur is in foster care with his current owner. For adoption consideration, complete an application at www.CatRescues.org/forms or paper copy available at either Eugene PetSmart store. Once we have your application, a volunteer will call to determine best fit and arrange a meet/greet at Arthur's current home. AKIRA (female) and RANGA (male) are a bonded brother-sister pair of young kitties, about 1 year old. Akira is a cute gray and white tuxedo girl who enjoys her cheek and face rubs. Ranga is a brave and playful medium-haired buff orange tabby boy with a soft, fluffy tail. He loves being petted from his head all the way down to his tail. They were trapped as feral kittens, but have come a long way in their loving foster home to become the sweet, playful kitties they are now. At first they are quite shy with new people, but once they get to know you (helped along with treats), they warm up quickly! They are hesitant about being picked up and held for longer than a short period of time, but they are little purr machines! They love to play and chase a feathery wand or string. They both became brave enough to lie on the bed and sleep next to their foster mom, and have recently become more assertive about getting attention and affection. Since Akira and Ranga have had each other for comfort for so long, they must be adopted together, and are being offered at a special sponsored fee of $150 for the pair (instead of $225 for 2 young cats). They have been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (they are negative), spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet wellness exam. PRINCESS is an affectionate fluffy, long-haired brown tabby female kitty, about 4 years old. This charming lady has been living behind a disguise for several months! When she was rescued by a kind man, her disguise was something called an eosinophilic granuloma -- a fancy scientific word for a fat lip! With good medical care, Princess' lip has returned to its previously beautiful state. She has been on a course of prednisolone, under the care of a skilled veterinarian, and her health has steadily improved. In her foster home she has enjoyed playing with her catnip mice and scratching on sturdy scratching posts. She likes to be by the window to gaze outside and nap in the sun. Princess is full of big purrs and loves to be petted & brushed. Princess loves the companionship of humans, but she does not trust nor does she like other cats. She enjoys receiving attention from children who have been taught to respect a beautiful princess like herself. Loud noises frighten her, as do sudden movements. Princess is looking forward to finding her forever royal residence with the right family. LICORICE is a gorgeous young male kitty with luxurious fluffy black fur, estimated to be about 1 yrs old. He was found living under a vacant mobile home during the winter's ice storms. Energetic and playful, he will happily spend hours chasing feather on-a-stick and other wand toys, pausing occasionally to jump into your lap for a good caress. He will need a quiet, slow introduction to any new people or places before his naturally sunny personality emerges, but once you have earned his trust, he will happily play with you for hours, and let you brush his beautiful fluff. Licorice has tested positive for FIV (the feline immunodeficiency virus) which means that he must be an indoor-only kitty for his lifetime - but he's a healthy, vigorous boy, and with some precautions to protect his immune system, he will likely have a normal lifespan. The virus can't be passed to dogs or to people, and only to other cats through a deep bite wound. Licorice can become a bit excited during playtime and forget how sharp his claws are, so he will need a cat-savvy adopter. If you are looking for an awesome cat to spend tons of playtime with, and are willing to invest the time to win his trust, Licorice is the cat for you! BLACK VELVET is a beautiful, fluffy solid black male kitty who is DECLAWED on his front paws, about 14 1/2 years old. He was found as a stray in Springfield, and efforts to locate his owners were unsuccessful. He is a little shy in new situations and it will take him a bit of time to adjust, but once he is comfortable, he is an affectionate and very laid back boy. He loves to be held and petted, and is good with cuddling. He is very nondominant and really enjoys being with other cats, so he would do best in a home with at least one other friendly cat. Because he is declawed, he must be an indoor-only cat. Velvet requires a thyroid pill twice a day (which is easily administered), and has some minor asthma problems that are kept in check with a cortisone shot about every 3 months. Won't you give this sweet and quiet boy a safe and secure forever home? Black Velvet has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet exam. He is currently in foster care. For adoption consideration, complete an application at www.CatRescues.org/forms or paper copy available at either Eugene PetSmart store. Once we have your application, a volunteer will call to determine best fit and arrange a possible meet/greet. The $60 adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. Samantha
dob is estimateSAMANTHA is a very special, fluffy black middle-aged girl kitty about 9 yrs old, who was nearly dead when she was found by a kindly young woman in Oakridge a year ago. Samantha went to live in a loving foster home, and when her foster mom took her to the vet, she was expecting that she was too far gone to be saved. To her delight, Samantha had an easily treatable thyroid imbalance, and within a month had completely regained her health and is now a beautiful, loving and affectionate cat. All she needs to stay healthy is a small, inexpensive half-pill twice daily for the rest of her life (the cost is under $10 per month). Samantha loves to be picked up and stroked, to sit on laps, and to happily cuddle with her human. She has a calm and gentle demeanor, and will thrive in a quiet, stable household. She gets along fine with other mellow, non-aggressive cats. This sweet and lovely girl has a tremendous amount of love to give to her lucky person or people. Samantha has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet exam. Nora
NORA is a sweet young adult female kitty with beautiful, glossy black fur, about 5 years old. She was rescued as a teenager and went to live in a loving foster home. She was very shy at first, but she has learned that humans have gentle hands, bring food and toys, and give her gentle pets. She enjoys playtime with feather-on-a-stick and fuzzy toys that she can bat at and "capture." Nora was finally adopted, but she had to be returned to us when her new owner lost her home. This poor kitty is ready for a stable forever home! She will need a quiet household and an adopter who is patient and gentle -- but once she gets to know her new people, they will be rewarded with a sweet and loving lap cuddler who is full of purrs! Nora is curious about new places, but she likes to start out with a safe spot where she can observe her world, then work her way into her new surroundings. Nora might do best as the only cat, although she does seem to do OK with other mellow kitties who don't push her around. She has been testedfor feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Kitty is currently in foster care. Zoe
Sponsored Adoption?ZOE is a cute little older adult female black and white tuxedo kitty about 14 years old. She was brought into a local vet and surrendered as a very frightened and upset kitty - she may have been abused in her past - but she has settled down now, and is extremely outgoing and affectionate. She adores being petted and loves all the attention she can get. She is quite scared of dogs, and is not a fan of other cats, although she has been OK with some of the other mellow cats in her foster facility. Zoe is currently on a prescription diet, and receives an inexpensive Prednisolone pill daily (which she readily eats in a pill pocket). This sweet girl just needs a quiet home and a kind-hearted adopter who is willing to give this older adult with a difficult past a chance at a new life - and they will be rewarded with a devoted and loving companion. Zoe has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, and has had a complete dental. Her adoption fee is $60, which allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for other abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. Zoe is currently in foster care; for information on how to meet this kitty, please call 541-225-4955 option 1 or send an email to adoptinfo@CatRescues.org. Then submit an adoption application that can be found online (www.CatRescues.org/forms) or a hard copy available at the Petsmart catteries.
