Dilly
DILLY is a super sweet kitty. She is quiet and gentle. She raised her 3 kittens and is happy to not have any more kittens to care for, now she can live the carefree life. When she came into foster, she had a shaved area on her back. The rescuer was unable to tell us why that spot was shaved all the way down to the skin. There were no signs of a wound and the hair is growing back just fine. She also has a couple of shaved spots right now, under her front leg, because of a recent ultrasound. Dilly was found to have hypertropic cardiomyopathy, which is a thickening of the heart muscles, but thankfully her heart function is normal. Because of the underlying heart condition we are making Dilly available at a reduced adoption fee of $60, reserved for our special-needs kitties. Dilly loves to capture catnip mice. She loves high places -- she would love a cat tree! We're not sure how Dilly feels about dogs, but gentle older children would be no problem. She has been living with one of her kittens, Dally, and they could be adopted as a pair as they get along really well. Dally is still in foster, but could be visited easily. DILLY has been tested for feline leukemia (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed – plus you get a free vet visit. She is currently at Petco at 1169 Valley River Drive, Eugene (open daily 9 to 9). For more information please call 541-225-4955 option 1 or send an email to adoptinfo@CatRescues.org. Dally
Dally is a fun, playful and inquisitive teenage female kitten about 7 months old. Dally is beautiful with a sleek black coat with some white highlights and adorable ear tufts. Dally loves to hang out with her humans. She enjoys her cuddle time. She is a great mouse-hunter -- well, catnip mice, at least! She really, really enjoys climbing and exploring. She also has a special stuffed rat that she loves to knock around, capture and release, and then hunt and capture again. Dally would love an older, gentle child of her own to bond with. She would love to have another friendly cat to hang with. (In fact, Dally's mama, Dilly, CRAN ID 1711-C0623, is also available for adoption, currently at Petco.) Dally hasn’t had much experience with dogs and was frightened when she met one so if there’s a dog in her home, it would need to be mellow and cat-friendly and she’d appreciate a very slow introduction. She and her 2 siblings were born in a rescuer's home, and then surrendered to CRAN. Dally has a congenital heart condition known as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, diagnosed by an ultrasound. Dally does not have heart disease at this time, and her heart function is normal. However, because of this condition, she is considered a special-needs kitten, and her adoption fee has been reduced accordingly. Dally has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Dally is currently in foster. Her adoption fee is $60 (which allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for other abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community). Hollie
Hollie is a sweet, sassy and petite grey tabby about 6 months old. She is joyous and darling. Hollie overcame some challenges early on in her life but has proved unstoppable. This little lady was found in a dumpster but with the help of many loving and caring people Hollie received the medical attention and love she needed. Unfortunately, Hollie did have to have her front left front leg amputated but is as agile and mobile as any other kitty out there. Hollie is a warrior and does not miss a beat. While independent and happy to run around chasing a toy mouse or run up and down the cat tree until she secures her position on the top perch for nap time, Hollie is fearless and LOVES her playtime with the other resident kitties in her foster home. She may seem delicate at times but she goes paw to paw with friends and adores it! Hollie loves to cuddle up next to her friends and snuggle with her foster parents. She loves to play with human hair at bedtime but hasn't quite mastered creating a lovely plait. It is mostly just kneading and purring but the love she exudes and the snuggles she provides will surely put a smile on any individual's face. Hollie would love to have another companion kitty to keep her active. Hollie can easily adapt to any environment and has proven that she is very capable. Hollie should be ok with a gentle cat-friendly dog and gentle, cat savvy kids. She is a special kitty and deserves a special home to continue to thrive and grow. . Hollie has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Hollie is currently in foster. Her adoption fee is $100 (which allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for other abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community). Black Beauty
Black beauty is one of the sweetest cats we have ever met. Just a little over a year, she is shy at first but once you earn her trust she will show you what an amazing kitty she is. She does wonderful with children. She has been exposed to young kids as well as older. She absolutely adores her foster’s three year old daughter. She loves her scratching post so that will need to be on your shopping list. She’s very well-behaved and hasn’t scratched any of the furniture on any furniture or the like. She does well with the other cats in her foster home once she gets to know them and does well with her foster’s puppy. If he gets a little to crazy for her, she prefers to just observe. Black Beauty was dumped on a farm in Junction City and luckily the farm owner helped her and called us. Black Beauty has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Zoey
Zoey is a pretty, blue-eyed, long-haired dilute calico/tabby mix. She is about 7 years old, very friendly and affectionate. She would rather hang out with you than play with toys. She purrs easily and especially enjoys head scritches. She will probably even give you a head bump to show her appreciation. Zoey loves attention and to be pet but would rather not be picked up. She enjoys racing through the house while everyone is sleeping. Zoey will thrive in a calm home bonded to you without other pets or small children. (She really dislikes other cats and especially dogs). She is territorial and will yowl and hiss to protect herself and what she considers hers. A predictable day is bliss for this girl. Zoey is declawed and in indoor only home is a must for her safety. Not having claws makes her a little clumsy occasionally and she may misjudges her jumps. Zoey is an expert indoor gardener - she'll trim your houseplants if they're within reach!. Zoey’s owner died and her second family couldn't take her with them when they moved. She is hopng to find a home that will be hers forever - perhaps with you? Zoey has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. A meeting with Zoey can easily be arranged in her foster home with an approved application at www.CatRescues.org/forms. Suki
Suki is a fearless, spunky young adult just over 1 year old. She has a beautiful tortoiseshell coat, with one adorable white whisker. Suki was found as a stray. She has been enjoying her foster home learning how to be a house cat. She has perfect litter box manners and will eat both wet food and kibble (but definitely prefers kibble!) She enjoys chasing the feather stick and whacking the ball around her ring toy and batting her stuffed mice and balls. She will let you know when she will accept petting (on her own terms). Once she trusts you, she will cuddle down in your lap for a quick snuggle. Although she really prefers to be ‘on the go’! Suki loves a tall perch from which to survey her domain. She also likes to curl up in the bathroom sink. Suki was found with other cats and will likely get along with other friendly cats. She has not been around children or dogs. Suki has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Suki is currently in foster. AARON is a very affectionate 8-month-old solid gray male teenager kitten who may have some Russian Blue in him. He has the cutest little tuft of hair behind his left ear. He and his 2 siblings were rescued from a group of kittens and cats living in a yard in Oakridge, and they went to live in a loving foster home where they have been getting used to humans. Aaron is the “Brains” of the group. He is wicked smart, and will tilt his head from side to side when attempting to work out a problem. He loves to fetch, and runs around chirping happily with his “prey” in his mouth. He is very gentle, but is shy around strangers. Aaron MUST be kept indoors; as a former feral, if he is let out, there is a good chance he will bolt. It is not mandatory, but Aaron and his brother Jason are very bonded and would love to be adopted together – a sponsor will pay part of the joint adoption fee. Aaron has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. CAPRI is an adorable, short-haired tortie female kitty about 13 years old. She has a sweet and mellow nature but she is very scared when first put into a new situation. (Her way of hiding is to be up on top of things.) Once she has adjusted, she is good with being held and is very outgoing and cuddly! Capri was one of a large group of cats rescued from an overcrowded cat hoarder. She appears to coexist well with other cats and dogs and would need an indoor/outdoor environment as she prefers to do her bathroom business outside thank you very much~. This affectionate girl would thrive in a quiet home where she can feel safe--she will be a loving, devoted companion! Havahna
HAVAHNA is a beautiful, sleek Siamese-type kitty with chocolate points. She is approximately 15 years old, according to her owner, who surrendered her because of dire financial circumstances. She is a chatty girl, who loves to offer her opinion on anything and everything, with a range of meows, chirps, and little bitty noises. Havahna is particular about being touched. She loves to be petted, but does not like to have her tail touched. She loves to explore. She likes to find a cubby to hide in, or a tall spot to sit way up on and observe the world. She has excellent litter box habits, and is a good eater, not picky at all. She is a little reserved upon first meeting -- this is an older kitty, who lived with her owner all of her life, and is still adjusting to the changes in her circumstances. She would love a quiet home, with a high perch, regular mealtimes, plenty of love, and an opportunity to become the queen of someone's world. Havahna has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed. NORA is a sweet young adult female kitty with beautiful, glossy black fur. She is about 3 years old. She was rescued as a teenager and went to live in a loving foster home. She was very shy at first, but she has learned that humans have gentle hands, bring food and toys, and give her gentle pets. She enjoys playtime with feather-on-a-stick and fuzzy toys that she can bat at and "capture." Nora was adopted a few months ago, and just came back to us because her adopter had to suddenly move out of her living situation. This poor kitty is ready for a stable forever home! She will need a quiet household and an adopter who is patient and gentle -- but once she gets to know her new people, they will be rewarded with a sweet and loving lap cuddler who is full of purrs! Nora is curious about new places, but she likes to start out with a safe spot where she can observe her world, then work her way into her new surroundings. Nora might do best as the only cat, although she does seem to do OK with other mellow kitties who don't push her around. She has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Nora's adoption fee is $75. Fleur
FLEUR is a pretty and petite little short-haired brown tabby girl kitty with dramatic spots and stripes. She’s a sweet and gentle senior lady estimated to be about 12 years old, who wants nothing more than to snuggle and love you. She was found wandering the streets as a friendly, unfixed stray. She had a good check up with the vet and has no special diet needs. She is calm and graceful, has good manners, and always uses the litter box. She eats well and enjoys a little play time (catnip toys are a favorite of hers), but most often you will find Fleur following you around, or snoozing cuddled up next to you. As an older cat, she might be happiest as the only pet, although she should be fine with other cats who leave her alone and aren’t aggressive. Fleur needs a calm, attentive and loving household where she can happily live out her remaining years. When left alone for long periods she'll yowl for more love so it's best that her new family is around to keep her company. PLEASE NOTE Fleur is partially deaf and while she is not skittish in the least, it’s best to get her attention before handling her. MYSTICAL is a lovely, petite young gray and white female tuxedo kitty with a velvety gray nose and an adorable little white mustache. She is estimated to be about 1 1/2 years old. This little girl is so sociable, and she thrives on lots of attention. She shows affection by rubbing against you and giving head bumps. Mystical was found living in an outbuilding in Cottage Grove with her 6 kittens, and they all went to live in a loving foster home. Like many adult cats, she is not crazy about being picked up, but she will come and snuggle up next to you on her own terms. She is very playful and enjoys her cat toys, but be forewarned that she can be active at night unless you wear her out during the day. Mystical reliably uses her scratching post and litter box, and she needs to be on a high-quality diet. She gets along well with other cats, but she does NOT like dogs and will try to attack them. Due to her background, she could be adopted as an indoor-outdoor kitty, but only to a home where there is a very SAFE outdoor environment; otherwise she should be kept indoors. ARES is a sweet and handsome little male black and white tuxedo kitten about 3.5 months old. He loves his wand toys, and can be very possessive of them once he has hold of the toy. He likes to play tug of war trying to keep the toy from his siblings. When he is done playing, then he is a real cuddle bug and will curl up in your lap, purring up a storm. Ares and his siblings were born to a woman’s unfixed female cat, and they all went to live in a loving foster home. They are good with respectful children, other adult cats and should adapt well to cat-friendly dogs. These kittens are vocal around feeding time and when seeking out attention -- and they have very loud purr motors that come on as soon as you pet them. They all love to be as close as possible to their humans, lying near or on them if possible. Like most active young kittens, Ares would do best in a household with another playful young kitty. They all love to be as close as possible to their humans, lying near or on them if possible. Like most active young kittens, Aphrodite would do best in a household with another playful young kitty. Aphrodite has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. You can meet Aphrodite at the cattery inside our partner store PetSmart South at 2858 Willamette Street, Eugene OR 97405. Cassini
Cassini is a totally huggable, friendly orange tabby girl who is approximately 9 years old. She is a very loving cat and loves to lay in your lap and get scritches and kisses. Her favorite place to be rubbed and kissed is her forehead and between her eyes. She loves to meet new people and really loves people. She loves to play and explore, and her favorite toy is a wand with crinkle balls at the end. She will run, jump, and roll for hours for that toy! At the end of the day Cassini likes to sleep right next to your pillow or on top of you if you lay on your back. She will stay right there all night long, and give you a little meow if you wake up at night to remind you she’s there for you. Cassini lived outside for 4 years after her previous owner moved and left her outside. She was in poor health, was lonely, and just wanted to be an indoor-only kitty again so a good samaritan took her in and contacted CRAN. Cassini would love her own home. She would probably do well with a mellow male cat. It is not known how she would do with dogs. She would be fine with children who know how to be gentle. She adjusts very quickly to new environments and people. She would be happiest with a family who is home often to give her lots of attention and hugs. She is very good at respecting small animals’ space too. Cassini is allergic to fleas but with monthly flea prevention she has no problems. Cassini has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, has had a dental and comes with a free vet visit. Her adoption fee is $60 which allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for other abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. Cassini is currently in foster. Lottie
LOTTIE is a beautiful black and gray tabby female kitty who wants nothing more than a soft, plush bed to sleep in and a nice human to feed her treats. In return she will keep you company with her gentle presence and provide a nice soft fur coat that’s perfect for stroking. This sweet senior girl is estimated to be about 10 years old, and was being cared for by some nice folks at a local business until there was a change of management -- and the new boss said she had to go. Little Lottie, who gets along with just about everyone, is looking for a stable forever home with caring people who will appreciate the wisdom and calm of a cat with her years of life experience. We did a complete veterinary work up on her (she is healthy), including a dental -- and discovered that she finds going to the vet very stressful; thus her future family will need to understand that she might need to be sedated for veterinary care. As a senior kitty, Lottie does best on a high quality diet. She would be happiest as the only pet in a quiet household. She really loves to be petted, and will make a wonderful companion for someone who want a kitty who likes to simply hang out with her special human(s). LOTTIE has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Beedledee is a super sweet adult female cat who is approximately 6 years old. She is all black with sleek short hair, and she is polydactyl -- which means that she has thumbs! She belonged to a man who loved her very much, but who had to give her up because he became homeless. Beedledee is a very outgoing and affectionate girl, who is not fearful at all. She is playful and curious, and loves to explore and to hang out with her person or family – she wants to be involved with whatever you are doing. Beedledee would like to be an inside/outside cat, but can only be adopted into a home with a VERY safe outside space. She will tolerate other cats who don’t bother her, but she would be happiest as an only cat (we do not know how she is with dogs). Beedledee would do best in a home with adults only, or with cat-savvy older kids. This is a special girl who will make someone a devoted companion. TIMARIE is a petite, pretty little female adult kitty about 4 years old. She looks almost all black, but has flashes of orange here and there. She motors around to find a good perch from which to watch the world go by. Timarie is big on head bumps and scritches, AND she has the best little purr in the world! She can be a rather passionate puss, and sometimes does not want you to put her down. Timarie was rescued as an abandoned stray, and has one ear that looks a bit tattered from her life on the streets. She does have a sensitivity to fleas, so she will need to be kept up-to-date on flea medication -- but just the monthly dose keeps her skin and hair beautiful. She has lived with other kitties and does well with non-confrontational cats. Cat-friendly dogs should be okay with a slow introduction (she has done fine with her foster Mom’s Chiweenie). This sweet girl is one special gal who will be a loyal friend to whoever is lucky enough to adopt her. GRETEL is an affectionate 7-year-old female tabby cat who loves to sit on everyone’s lap. This big girl boasts big green eyes and beautifully patterned dark brown and gray fur. She has many wonderful qualities including being comfortable with visitors, assisting her loved ones at the computer, understanding house rules on claws, singing opera (she does like to use her voice!), and practicing napping skills on her foster parents' bed. Gretel was surrendered to a local vet for euthanasia because of digestive issues, and was instead brought to a loving CRAN foster home to be cared for. She has an excellent appetite and is on a special diet for sensitive stomachs, which is doing the trick – along with an inexpensive steroid to aid in digestion. She would probably do best as an only pet to help keep her comfortable and happy, and in a quieter home without very young kids. Gretel (and her adorable, friendly personality) is just waiting to meet you and love you forever! Claude was rescued from an unhealthy hoarding situation, and has been living in a loving foster home. This has been a tough adjustment for her, as she's only been with one owner her entire life. She's nervous about being picked up by strangers, but once she knows you, she LOVES having her head and chin rubbed – and she will purr up a storm (and drool) when you’re brushing her. Mollie really wants to be friendly, and once she gets acclimated to her surroundings, she'll lay on the bed with you, snuggle, and give you great head butts. She loves chasing “da bird” toy, and is great with using her litterbox. Mollie does NOT like the other cats in her foster home, and will need to be the only cat in her new forever home. We aren’t sure how she'd do with a cat-friendly dog. This beautiful girl just needs the right person who has the patience to wait for her be comfortable enough to show her sweet, snuggly side. SPECIAL NEEDS CAT NEEDS A SPECIAL HEART! Oliver is a very sweet 3 1/2 year old male brown tabby kitty with stunning eyes, dramatic markings, and a LOT of love to give. He is not shy and will nudge and lick any free hand in the room when he wants attention. He can spot a free lap from across the room, and will never turn down a chance to be petted. Oliver likes his cat bed well enough, but strongly prefers to share a human bed at night instead, and in the morning he will yell and tell you how much he missed your company while you were asleep. This boy loves his cardboard scratcher and any toy rubbed with catnip. But the quickest way to his heart is with canned food and chin scratches; treats are always appreciated too! He was taken from a feral colony in Springfield as part of a Trap-Neuter-Return project, but he captured the heart of the people aiding his recovery with his friendly, loving demeanor. Oliver has tested positive for Feline Leukemia Virus. FeLV is a disease that only affects cats -- it cannot be transmitted to humans or any other types of animals. It suppresses his immune system and makes him vulnerable to other infections. Currently he is in great condition, with no outward signs of the disease. However he does require daily supplements, regular vet check ups, and a loving human to keep watch over him and monitor his health. Both for his own well-being and for other cat’s health and safety, Oliver must be an indoor-only cat and either an only cat, or in a household with other FeLV+ cats. KADE is a big, beautiful cream-colored adult male kitty who looks to be some sort of a Siamese mix. He’s estimated to be about 10 years old, and was found as a stray living outside an apartment complex, fending for himself with the help of a good Samaritan who was feeding him. He had been neutered previously with an ear tip. He is now in a loving foster home, and he is still somewhat shy and a bit cautious when giving out his love. As he learns to trust humans again, he is becoming more outgoing – and if his new adopters are gentle and patient, they will be rewarded with a loving companion. Kade does not like other cats at all, and needs to be the only kitty. He is currently on a diet for urinary tract health (he is excellent with his litterbox use). This sweet boy needs a quiet, stable forever home with no young kids and an experienced cat person. Sponsored Adoption?ZOE is a cute and petite little adult black and white tuxedo female kitty about 11 years old. She was brought into a local vet in 2016 and surrendered as a very frightened and upset kitty – most likely she had been abused in her past. It has taken Zoe about a year to calm down and become more outgoing and affectionate, and she has bonded strongly to her foster mom; she even tolerates strangers now for short sessions of petting. Thus it is likely she will similarly bond to a cat-savvy adopter given plenty of time and TLC. She is absolutely terrified of kids, but does well with her foster mom’s dogs. We do not know how she would do with another kitty. Zoe needs a kind-hearted good Samaritan willing to give this older adult with a difficult past a chance at a new life. Transferred from 2016 portion of chartBUDDY is a big, fluffy, pale orange male kitty about 5 years old. He’s an affectionate but sometimes shy guy who is looking for a cat-savvy owner. Buddy came to us from a woman who had dementia and lived in an assisted living facility. He's scared of loud noises, and gets nervous in new situations. When he's comfortable, however, he's such a sweet purring machine. He likes being groomed, and even puts up with having his belly brushed! He's a great jumper, and will leap up to catch da bird. Buddy always uses his litter box, and loves his scratching post -- he may need some redirection from new furniture, although he is good at learning what is OK to scratch and what isn’t. He would probably do well with a friendly cat, or a very confident kitten. He might also be OK with a dog for a playmate, but we haven’t dog tested him yet. So far, Buddy's not much of a lap cat, but if you sit next to him, he'll happily lie close to you, and sometimes snuggle. He will need someone who knows how to read cat body language, as he can nip when he is fearful (so no young children). This is a cat who will make a loving and devoted companion with a patient and understanding adopter. Buddy has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. VIOLET is a sweet and petite little female black and white tuxedo 6-month-old kitten who started out the first couple of months of her life in a field with no human contact. Because of this, she was quite wary of humans when she first came to her foster home. Violet has really opened up with lots of socializing and handling -- and she is now a relaxed, gentle little girl who loves to be petted. Her favorite activity is romping around with her foster kitty friends, so she would do best in a home where there's another cat or kitten that she can play with. Since she's naturally laid back, she would probably do well with kids who know how to be gentle and with friendly dogs--as long as her new family is patient and allows her time to settle in! He loves to be petted and he's very affectionate with his people. Please note that he does not like to be petted around his hindquarters, so a household without young children would be best. Harry came from a family who became homeless and sadly had to relinquish their 4 cats who had lived with them since they were kittens. Harry gets along fine with other mellow cats, and he lived peacefully with a gentle, cat-friendly dog. He has tested positive for FIV (the feline immunodeficiency virus), which means that he must be an indoor-only kitty for his lifetime, but he is a healthy boy, and with some precautions to protect his immune system, he will likely lead a normal life. The virus can't be passed to dogs or to people, and only to other cats through a deep bite wound. Won’t you give this loving older kitty the stable forever home he so deserves? Meet BIBI (also known as "Habibi"), a big and beautiful black, gold, and white cat with fluffy fur as soft as a bunny's. This three-year-old “tortico” has the coloring of both a tortoiseshell and a calico, and she epitomizes the personality of both. In fact, she won't mind you calling her "Queen Habibi." She allows her human to pet her very soft fur in moderation, and only on her terms. She is impeccable in her litterbox manners. Bibi was relinquished to a local shelter because she sometimes coughs and wheezes due to seasonal allergies or asthma. Her condition is helped by using one of the “natural” litters (pellets, corn, walnut shells etc). To keep her airways open, Bibi currently receives 1/2 tab prednisolone every other day, which she readily accepts via a pill popper. Other than admiring looks and loyal servitude from her humans, nothing means more to Habibi than food. She is a naturally large feline, so she needs her human to keep an eye on her food intake in order for her weight to remain in the healthy range. Bibi will chase and be chased by her playful cat companions in her foster home, but her reserved personality indicates she would also do well as an only cat. She would be happiest in a calm household with patient, gentle adults, and possibly older kids. We do not know yet how she is around dogs. This wonderful girl will bestow you with ankle rubs and gorgeousness. Are you ready to welcome royalty into your home? She is very shy around new people and environments, but once she trusts you and is comfortable in her new environment, Zuri will purr and cuddle with you, sleep on the bed with you each night, and will happily come to you when you put your hand out or when you shake her food dish. She adores petting from individuals she trusts, and sometimes she will reach out a gentle paw to bat at your hand when you stop petting her, to say “more please!” Zuri loves to bat small kitty toys across the floor, but since she will sometimes put new things with her mouth, it is important that she not be given anything chewable. Zuri gets along with calm, cat-friendly dogs, and would probably be okay with gentle, cat-savvy kids age 12 or older. After a slow introduction, she got along OK with some of the other cats in her foster home, but not with others – so she might be happiest as an only cat. Zuri would do best in a calm home, where she can warm up to her surroundings at her own pace. A veterinarian called our rescue group when Zuri’s owner brought her in to euthanize her because she had been living/hiding in their closet for the two years they had her. With patience and gentleness, Zuri has slowly learned that her home can feel safe and has become more confident in exploring it instead of hiding in a closet. She is now looking for a forever home that can provide her with the love and patience she needs to continue to blossom. ZURI has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed – plus you get a free vet visit. Her adoption fee is $75, which is strictly to help cover our costs. She is currently in foster care. Atlas
ATLAS is an extra large, handsome young ginger tabby male kitty about a year old. He and his siblings were found abandoned as babies and went to live in a foster home, but Atlas was held back for adoption after he experienced several seizures that seemed to be precipitated by stress (including going to the vet). He has been in his current foster home for six months, and there have been absolutely no signs of seizures, so it is quite possible that he has outgrown this problem. Atlas is a bit shy with strangers and in new situations, but once he has acclimated, he is very affectionate, loves pets, and purrs readily. After he knows you and trust is established, he'll be putty in your hands. He is good with being picked up, and likes being cuddled in your arms. He is active and playful, and really adores tumbling around with the young cat in his foster home (see video); their play is adorably sweet and gentle, and his foster dad calls Atlas the “Karate Kitty." Atlas is also good with the dog that lives there, and would do best in a quiet household (no toddlers) with at least one other playful young animal for him to buddy up with. As a special needs kitty, Atlas’ adoption fee is only $60 – although a donation to our medical fund is always greatly appreciated. He has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed--plus you get a free vet visit. He is currently in foster care, and can be easily visited. For more information please call 541-225-4955 option 1 or send an email to adoptinfo@CatRescues.org 1/20/18 8:17 PM

Hobi
HOBI is a wonderfully sweet and friendly silver tabby male kitty who is estimated to be about 12 years old. He's a charming guy who is curious and outgoing, and who doesn’t act at all like a senior kitty. Don't be surprised if you see him hop up onto a cat tree or other high place, like a cat with much less life experience! He's spry and talkative and still likes to chase a string around the floor. Hobi was adopted as a kitten and lived his whole life with just one family -- until both his people suffered failing health and could no longer care for this boy. He's looking for a warm and loving forever home where his people will listen to his stories and cuddle up with him on the sofa. Hobi is great with gentle kids, and he is so laid back that he should be fine with other mellow cats. He has been neutered, tested negative for FELV/FIV, is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, has been treated for fleas and worms and comes with a free vet visit. His adoption fee is $60 (adoption fees help us help another cat). He is currently in foster care. To meet Hobi or learn more about him, please call 541-225-4955 option 1 or send an email to adoptinfo@CatRescues.org. ID# 1704-C0090. 1/20/18 8:17 PM

DeeCee
Hi, I'm DeeCee! Are you looking for an affectionate companion? I might be your girl. I will sit on your lap, and entertain you by allowing you to shine a laser pointer for me to chase. I used to be shy, but now I'm just a little cautious in new situations. I would love to find a family that would lavish attention on me, me me! I'm a beautiful black and white tuxedo kitty and I am just a year and a half old. I was carrying a little extra weight around my middle, but with some careful calorie counting, and a little extra playtime, I have managed to shed most of the excess weight. There is still a little more of me to love, or to warm your lap, but don't let that fool you -- I like to romp and play, and explore. DeeCee was surrendered by her adopters because their other cat was bullying her, and keeping her cornered and stressed. Because of that, DeeCee peed outside of her litterbox. Since being in foster care, she has been treated for a urinary tract infection, and is recovering and using her box regularly. She will need to stay on a urinary tract health food for her lifetime, and she would probably do best as an only cat. DeeCee has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Her adoption fee is $75, which allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for other abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. DeeCee is currently in foster care; for information on how to meet this kitty, please call 541-225-4955 option 1 or send an email to adoptinfo@CatRescues.org. ID#1510-C0535R. Then submit an adoption application that can be found online (www.CatRescues.org/forms) or a hard copy available at the Petsmart catteries. 1/20/18 8:17 PM

Tooey
TOOEY is a large and handsome fluffy black and white male tuxedo kitty with a white face blaze, about 21 months old. He is active and playful, and very affectionate -- he's not a scaredy cat at all. He is good with being held and sitting in laps, and is very bonded to humans. Tooey was adopted from our rescue group as a kitten but when his owner moved in with a relative who was very allergic to cats, he and his sister "Wunnie," were returned. His sister has since been adopted but Tooey is still on the search. He needs a home where he can feel safe and adored and where his new owner understands that young kitties can have "wild and crazy guy" time too! Tooey will occasionally scratch when overstimulated and needs a patient and cat-savvy adopter (no young kids). He may be able to adjust to a mellow, non-dominant kitty or to a cat-friendly dog but he is not a fan of active young kittens. Who has the patience for THAT?! Won’t you give this sweet young guy the stable forever home he so deserves? His adoption fee is $75 which is strictly to help cover our costs. He has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed—plus you get a free vet visit. Tooey is currently in foster care. Tammy
TAMMY is a shy but very sweet little female kitty about 2 years old with plush black fur. She was born in a feral colony (and spayed with an ear tip), and then was taken into a loving foster home where she slowly learned to trust people. She is active and playful, but may hide when someone walks into the room or moves too quickly towards her. Once you've earned her trust she will purr for hours and enjoys all the chin rubs you can give her. She was adopted into a household with one other young kitty (Tasha), but Tammy is a very dominant kitty with other cats, and Tasha was a bit afraid of her. Tammy and Tasha’s adoptive mom recently died, and they are now living in a foster home where they have been separated. Tammy is still adjusting to the sudden change and even though she really loves to be petted, she will sometimes suddenly growl or hiss. She will need a quiet home without young children. Tammy is a diamond in the rough and with a little TLC, she will be the perfect companion for the right somebody. TAMMY has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Tammy's adoption fee is just $75 which allows us to pay it forward to help other kitties. Foster Parents Needed
[PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE ARE ALL PICTURES OF CATS THAT ARE ALREADY IN FOSTER CARE] West Coast fosters give their kitties lots of TLC and attention. Because of that, we have very well socialized cats that are readily adopted. BUT, we have reached capacity with our fosters. We need more fosters to help fulfill our mission of helping rescue special needs animals. Fosters are provided with all the food, bedding and litter the cat needs. We also pay all their medical expenses. Your part is to give them love and attention and how hard can that be? This is the perfect opportunity to have a pet without a life time commitment. Fostering lasts anywhere from one week to several months and YOU get to choose whether you foster bottle babies, kittens or adult cats AND how many. If you live in the Eugene/Springfield, Oregon area and have love to spare for these kitties, please call 541-225-4955. 1/20/18 8:17 PM

Tana'i
TANA'I is a beautiful and sweet black and white tuxedo female adult kitty. One veterinarian estimated her age at 3 years old and another at 6 years old but we believe her to be closer to 3. She was found homeless and pregnant and subsequently had her babies after she was rescued. Her kittens grew up and were adopted and Tana'i has been living in a loving foster home learning to trust humans. She loves head pets and chin scritches but is not a "needy" girl -- she would be the perfect kitty companion for someone who works a lot so she can save up her affections. Her favorite toys are a laser light and her stuffed ostrich and she goes completely silly for catnip. She would prefer a quiet home without noisy kids. She does well with other kitties after a proper introduction and might be OK with a respectful dog. She has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed – plus you get a free vet visit. Tana'i is currently in foster care. Ariana
ARIANA is a beautiful young female kitty with sleek black fur and a cute white spot on her chest. This 3-4 year-old sweetheart is seeking affection and love. She is a cat who hates to be confined, and she is quite vocal (we call her "squeakers" because she talks so much). She is a little nervous about strange sounds or unfamiliar surroundings, and will sometimes hiss or growl -- but she is never aggressive (although she should not be in a home with young kids). She loves to play with string and balls, and she really enjoys sitting and looking out windows. Ariana was adopted from CRAN as a kitten, but was returned to us when her owner became financially unstable and was unable to care for her (or give her the attention that she so strongly desires). It took Ariana awhile to learn to trust her new family, but now she is very affectionate with her foster mom's teenagers, and sleeps with them every night. She will need a patient and cat-savvy adopter who will give her time to adjust -- but this young girl really wants to be a part of a family in a stable forever home! NOTE: ARIANA has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV, (NEG-NEG)spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Her adoption fee is $75, which is strictly to help cover our costs. She is currently in foster care. Miss Squeaky P
MISS SQUEAKY P (named because of her adorable squeak) is a gorgeous medium-haired tortoiseshell kitty with a cute white chin. She is about 6 to 7 years old. When she was rescued and came to her foster home, she was malnourished and suffering from flea dermatitis. After receiving veterinary care and several months of TLC, everything has turned around for her. She has blossomed into a very lovely and sweet girl, and while her skin may always need a little attention (we occasionally give her a few days of oral steroids), she now has a beautiful coat instead of the patchy and scabby skin she came in with! She is an adorable and affectionate companion, and is also very playful. Miss Squeaky P has lots of love to give and is very pleasant to hang out with, never needing too much attention, but she happily accepts it when given. She likes being brushed, adores catnip, her Neko Fly and the red laser light, and will also curl up on your lap and sleep with you at night. She gets along with other easy-going cats after a period of introduction, and she might do okay with a friendly dog -- but she would dearly love to be the only pet. She has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed - plus you get a free vet visit. Miss Squeaky P's adoption fee is $75. She is currently living in a loving foster home where she can be easily visited. CUDDLES is a beautiful and sweet short-haired black and gray tabby female kitty about 12 years old. She was surrendered by her people when they moved out of state and couldn’t take her with them. It took her some time to adjust to her foster home -- she was very scared at first -- but with a little patience and TLC, she has proved to be a friendly girl who enjoys gentle petting and especially chin scratches. She’ll be happiest in a quiet home with lots of low spots for her to hang out and nap in. Cuddles has been thoroughly checked out by a vet and, other than some minor arthritis in her hips, she is in excellent health. Once she has bonded to you, she loves to lay on your chest, legs or back, especially in bed at night, but not necessarily on your lap. She may give you an appreciative lick during petting or knead you with soft paws. She enjoys DaBird wire toy for play when she’s not asking for ear rubs. She prefers you don’t touch her feet too much, but once she trusts you, she is good with being brushed. Cuddles is currently in foster care and would love to meet you for a proper introduction. Cuddles' adoption fee is $60, to help other abandoned and neglected kitties. She has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. BOOTS is a gorgeous long-haired tuxedo cat who is about 10 years old with the most adorable white mustache and spot on his nose. He is DECLAWED on his front paws, thus he must be an indoor-only cat (which he has been his whole life). He is a gentle and well-behaved guy who is very quiet and has a soft purr. His lifelong owner transitioned to a nursing home and Boots was left behind. His sadness at the sudden loss of all he knew took him several weeks to acclimate to his new foster home. He can be quite playful at times and wants you to be involved too. Boots likes to follow you around and be right next to you to supervise but doesn’t care to be touched too much. He can become very anxious when being picked up. Learning to respect his boundaries with patience and kindness will reward you with his trust and love. He’s good at communicating and will sleep by your feet. Boots needs to be an only cat and in a home without young kids. He will make a wonderful kitty for a quiet person or couple looking for a delightful and loving companion. He has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Boots' adoption fee is $60.
