 . Arthur .
 . Arthur . . Arthur . . Arthur .
Arthur
ARTHUR is a sweet and handsome short-haired black male kitty estimated to be about 4 years old. He showed up last fall at a farm home in Pleasant Hill, and the owners had him neutered and vetted, thinking that he wanted to be an outside cat. It soon became clear that he is friendly and loving, and they began to allow him into the house. Arthur is a quiet, well-behaved boy who enjoys attention and loves to play. He will mostly spend his time lounging on the couch (see picture), but he has recently started voluntarily getting into his owner's lap. He is cautious of strangers, but is comfortable once he knows them. With a slow introduction, he has gotten along well with the older resident female cat. He loves to spend time outdoors and is an outstanding mouser - but his current owners must sell their farm and move to the city. Arthur would be happiest as an indoor-outdoor kitty on a country property, as he is not used to cars. It is possible that he could be transitioned to a mostly indoor cat in a very safe urban location (such as a cul-de-sac), as he is quite content lying in a warm spot and playing with his toys and scratching pad. Arthur is in foster care with his current owner. For adoption consideration, complete an application at www.CatRescues.org/forms or paper copy available at either Eugene PetSmart store. Once we have your application, a volunteer will call to determine best fit and arrange a meet/greet at Arthur's current home. The $90 adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. Flynster
FLYNSTER is a happy and adorable, 2 1/2-month-old black and white "cow kitty" with the cutest little pink nose. He has a hair-trigger purring machine inside his sweet and playful little body. He reaches out with a gentle paw to get your attention for petting and loves soft little toys that he can bat around and carry in his mouth. He loves to be held and is comfortable with people right away. He was raised as a bottle baby by a loving family that rescued him from under their porch along with his two sisters so they are all very trusting of humans. A loving family would be lucky to have this little boy in their home. Flynster has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet wellness exam. Meet Flynster at the cattery inside our partner PetSmart, 2847 Chad Dr., Eugene OR 97401. Dari
DARI is a large, handsome, and extremely friendly young orange tabby male kitty estimated to be about 2 years old. He loves every person who is willing to give him attention and who will scratch his adorable cheeks. He was found roaming the streets and went to live in a loving foster home, where he gets along well with the resident cats, respectful dogs (big and small), kids, and bunnies who all live in this busy household. He is just figuring out toys, and really seems to enjoy them. He loves food, and being fed regularly has made a huge impact on this wonderful boy’s life. He is always nearby and sleeps in bed with his humans most nights. From his days of fending for himself on the streets, Dari has tested positive for FIV (the feline immunodeficiency virus). FIV kitties can live a normal, healthy lifespan with good care as an indoor-only cat; the virus can only be transmitted to another cat through a deep bite wound, and can’t be transmitted to dogs or to people. He will make an amazing addition to his furr-ever family! Dari is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for FELV, microchipped, and has been defleaed and dewormed. Meet Dari in his foster home with an approved adoption application which can be submitted online at www.CatRescues.org/forms or a paper copy available at either Eugene PetSmart, Petco (Valley River Rd.) or Wags! Miss Bianca
MISS BIANCA is a sweet and shy female tuxedo kitty with a long black coat, adorable white nose, paws, and tummy. She is estimated to be about 5 years old. This sweet girl found her way to one of our cat rescue group's volunteers during a winter snowstorm. At first she was frightened of people that she didn't know, but she has since blossomed into a friendly kitty around those she knows and trusts. Bianca spends a lot of time nestled in her cozy cat cube and is gradually becoming used to living in a home. She is talkative and affectionate around meal times and she loves to be brushed, nudging your hand to get head scritches. Miss Bianca may have some arthritis in her back legs, and so she would prefer to live in a quiet home with patient adopters who will allow her to adjust to her new surroundings. Miss Bianca has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet wellness exam. Meet Bianca in her foster home with an approved adoption application which can be submitted online at www.CatRescues.org/forms or a paper copy available at either Eugene PetSmart, Petco (Valley River Dr.) or Wags! Mr. Cat
Mr. Cat is a handsome young adult brown tabby male kitty, estimated to be about 3 years old. He has the silkiest coat with pretty gold undertones and the cutest chubby cheeks. Mr. Cat is very shy at first, but with some time to acclimate, he loves attention and loves to be petted – he will even flip on to his back for belly rubs. He likes to play, and string toys are his favorite. He would be fine in a home with children who know how to be gentle with cats. He was non-reactive when meeting the laid-back cat in his foster home, and would probably be fine with another mellow cat with a very SLOW introduction. The foster family’s high-energy golden retriever made him very nervous, but he might be OK with a very mellow dog. Mr. Cat was found as a stray fending for himself on the streets, and he has tested positive for FIV (the feline immunodeficiency virus). FIV kitties can live a normal, healthy lifespan with good care as an indoor-only cat. FIV can only be transmitted to another cat through a deep bite wound, and can’t be transmitted to dogs or to people. Mr. Cat’s foster parents describe him as “one of the most precious cats we’ve ever had the pleasure of caring for”. Can you give this sweet boy from the streets the pampered life he so deserves? He has had a complete dental, is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for FELV, microchipped, and has been defleaed and dewormed. His adoption fee is $60, which allows us to continue to provide care for other kittens and cats in need. To visit Mr. Cat in foster care, submit an adoption application online at www.CatRescues.org/forms or a paper copy available at either Eugene PetSmart store, and a volunteer will contact you. Willie Nelson
WILLIE NELSON is a sweet brown tabby teenager male kitten about 7 months old, with white socks, bib and a blaze on his nose. Willie was part of a large colony of cats that a kind-hearted neighbor began trapping and neutering (thus his ear tip), when it was discovered that he’s actually a very friendly little kitty! Willie is a bit shy at first, but quickly warms up to anyone willing to give him head scritches. He enjoys batting around small objects like stuffed mice and ping pong balls. He doesn't care to be picked up, but he is learning to enjoy spending time on laps. This friendly little guy would do well in a house with another young cat, where he can learn about being a house-dweller and enjoy the good life! Willie has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free wellness exam. Meet Willie Nelson in their foster home with an approved adoption application which can be submitted online at www.CatRescues.org/forms or a paper copy available at either Eugene PetSmart, Petco (Valley River Dr.) or Wags! Ranga
RANGA and AKIRA are a bonded brother-sister pair of young kitties, about 1 year old. Ranga is a brave and playful long-haired buff orange tabby boy with a soft, fluffy tail. He loves being petted from his head all the way down on his back. Akira is a cute petite gray and white tuxedo girl who enjoys her cheek and face rubs. Ranga and Akira were trapped as feral kittens, but have come a long way in their loving foster home to become the sweet, playful kitties they are now. They will be very shy with new people at first but once they know you (helped along with treats) they will warm up quickly. They don’t like to be picked up and held too long, but they are little purr machines! They love to chase a feathery wand or string, but they can get a little spooked if they see you throw something. Ranga and Akira both became brave enough to lay on the bed and sleep next to their foster mom, and have been been more assertive when they want attention. Since Ranga and Akira have had each other for comfort for so long, they must be adopted together, and are being offered at a special sponsored fee of $150 for the pair (instead of $225 for 2 young cats). They have been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (they are negative), neutered/spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet wellness exam. FLICKA & KATRINE are a bonded pair of stepsisters who found each other in foster care and have been inseparable ever since! FLICKA is a large, affectionate calico girl about a year old. She was rescued from a rural colony and brought to the clinic for her spay and ear tip, where it was discovered that she is quite friendly and more suited to a life indoors. Her smaller sidekick KATRINE is also a year old, all black with a white patch on her chest. She is more energetic and active than Flicka, but at the end of the day they curl up together for a snooze. Katrine was found abandoned with her siblings on a rural country lane. Both girls are friendly and like their humans, once they learn they can trust you – but they get easily stressed when their environment changes, so they will need a patient adopter. In exchange for patience, you will get head bumps and loud purring from Flicka, and snuggles and kisses from Katrine. Katrine likes to be picked up and held; Flicka prefers all four paws on the ground, but will happily sit next to you on the couch. This bonded pair is being offered at a special sponsored adoption fee of $125 for the pair. Marvin
MARVIN is a very friendly male adult kitty, white with a blanket of brown and black tabby markings on his head, back and tail, about 9 1/2 years old. He has a splash of color near his left paw. Marvin was surrendered by a couple who could no longer look after him and has thrived in his loving foster home. He is very social and will greet anyone, even strangers when they walk through the door. Marvin enjoys sitting on and around people to receive affection and attention, and also enjoys napping on the bed. He can be assertive when seeking attention and that includes getting on the counter to be closer to people, the occasional gentle love bite, or by hooking his paw around his human’s arm as if to say, “pet me”. Marvin likes all things catnip, and will play endlessly with a laser pointer or a feather on a string. He is such a warm bundle of joy! Marvin previously lived as an indoor/outdoor cat, and while he has acclimated well to being indoors, he will definitely be happiest being adopted to an indoor/outdoor home as long as there is a VERY SAFE outdoor environment. He is in good health, and has had a complete dental performed on him. Marvin has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free wellness exam. Princess
PRINCESS is an affectionate fluffy, long-haired brown tabby female kitty, about 4 years old. This charming lady has been living behind a disguise for several months! When she was rescued by a kind man, her disguise was something called an eosinophilic granuloma -- a fancy scientific word for a fat lip! With good medical care, Princess' lip has returned to its previously beautiful state. She has been on a course of prednisolone, under the care of a skilled veterinarian, and her health has steadily improved. In her foster home she has enjoyed playing with her catnip mice and scratching on sturdy scratching posts. She likes to be by the window to gaze outside and nap in the sun. Princess is full of big purrs and loves to be petted & brushed. Princess loves the companionship of humans, but she does not trust nor does she like other cats. She enjoys receiving attention from children who have been taught to respect a beautiful princess like herself. Loud noises frighten her, as do sudden movements. Princess is looking forward to finding her forever royal residence with the right family. Princess has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), was already spayed when she was rescued, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet wellness exam. SISSY is an affectionate female kitty estimated to be about 4 years old, who is white with a brown tabby cap, cape, and tail. A neighborhood stray, she was taken in by a good Samaritan, and came to live in a loving CRAN foster home. The sweet and talkative girl becomes very attached to her humans and enjoys long sessions of petting, head scratches, and kind words. She prefers not to be picked up, but will happily sit next to you and may even sit on your lap once she comes to know you. Her favorite toys are small balls with bells inside, and Da Bird toy. She finds Halo Chicken Treats irresistible, and they have been the inspiration for her Cat Pawsitive training. While she is still working to master her skills, Sissy has learned to high five, come when called, and nose tap. She will tolerate other mellow cats, but likely would be happiest as the only cat. This friendly and interactive girl just needs a stable forever home to call her own! Licorice
LICORICE is a gorgeous young male kitty with luxurious fluffy black fur, estimated to be about 1 ½ yrs old. He was found living under a vacant mobile home during the winter’s ice storms. Energetic and playful, he will happily spend hours chasing feather on-a-stick and other wand toys, pausing occasionally to jump into your lap for a good caress. He will need a quiet, slow introduction to any new people or places before his naturally sunny personality emerges, but once you have earned his trust, he will happily play with you for hours, and let you brush his beautiful fluff. Licorice has tested positive for FIV (the feline immunodeficiency virus) which means that he must be an indoor-only kitty for his lifetime – but he’s a healthy, vigorous boy, and with some precautions to protect his immune system, he will likely have a normal lifespan. The virus can't be passed to dogs or to people, and only to other cats through a deep bite wound. Licorice can become a bit excited during playtime and forget how sharp his claws are, so he will need a cat-savvy adopter. Mocha
MOCHA is a super sweet female kitty with beautiful fluffy black fur, estimated to be about 12 years old. She is a quiet and calm girl with a quiet little meow. Mocha absolutely adores human attention, and loves gentle pets. She still has some playfulness left in her, and enjoys catnip mice. Mocha was abandoned at a vet clinic a few years ago, and went to live in a foster home where she was lovingly cared for by the family. She has tested positive for FIV (the feline immunodeficiency virus) which means that she must be an indoor-only kitty for her lifetime – but with some precautions to protect her immune system, she will likely have a normal lifespan. The virus can't be passed to dogs or to people, and only to other cats through a deep bite wound – thus Mocha should be an only cat (which she prefers). This kitty will make a wonderful companion for that special someone who will give her a forever home for her remaining years. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, is microchipped, treated for fleas and dewormed and tested negative for Felv – plus she comes with a free vet visit. You can meet Mocha at the cattery inside our partner, Petco 1169 Valley River Drive, Eugene, OR 97401 and submit an adoption online at www.CatRescues.org/forms or paper copy available at the store (open from 9am to 9pm daily). DEXXIE is a beautiful young short-haired orange tabby female kitty, with white fur in a tuxedo pattern, about 1 ½ years old. She was rescued as a pregnant stray in Dexter (thus her name), and after her kittens were all adopted, she is ready now to find her perfect home. She loves batting toys across the floor, playing with feather on a stick, and receiving lots of pets from her humans. In fact, she will let you know she needs attention by meowing at you, turning on her purr motor, and sometimes pulling your hand to her head with her front paws to get more pets! She is a very loving and playful young cat who will purr while eating, playing, and when she sees her favorite humans. Dexxie is a very healthy girl, but she does have an itchy skin condition which we are currently treating with cortisone shots. Her vet is working on a long-term solution, so Dexxie will require some extra vet monitoring. She would really enjoy having at least one other playful young cat in her new forever home. Dexxie has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet exam. Hydro
HYDRO is a shy but sweet female kitty who is a mix between a calico and a tabby (sometimes called a “tabico”). She’s about 9 years old. Hydro will need a patient adopter who’ll allow her time to come out of her shell – but once she knows you, she loves to have you pick her up and put her in your lap, getting pets and chin scratches. She enjoys lounging in comfy beds and stretching out in sunny spots. Overall, she’s a very quiet and low maintenance cat. She was surrendered when her owner's health failed, and Hydro and her mother Minou had nowhere to go. Hydro just had a complete dental and blood work done, and she is in excellent health. She would do best in a quiet forever home, and is very bonded to Minou – thus we are asking that they be adopted together, and are offering them at a special adoption fee of $100 for the pair. Hydro has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet exam. This poor kitty is ready for a stable forever home! She will need a quiet household and an adopter who is patient and gentle -- but once she gets to know her new people, they will be rewarded with a sweet and loving lap cuddler who is full of purrs! She was brought into a local vet and surrendered as a very frightened and upset kitty – she may have been abused in her past – but she has settled down now, and is extremely outgoing and affectionate. She adores being petted and loves all the attention she can get. She is quite scared of dogs, and is not a fan of other cats, although she has been OK with some of the other mellow cats in her foster facility. Zoe is currently on a prescription diet, and receives an inexpensive Prednisolone pill daily (which she readily eats in a pill pocket). Meet beautiful Habibi (aka “BIBI”), a gorgeous black, gold, and white 5-year-old female kitty with soft fluffy fur, who has the coloring of both a tortoiseshell and a calico. This sweet girl was relinquished to a local shelter because she sometimes coughs and wheezes due to seasonal asthma. To keep her airways open, Bibi currently receives 1/2 tablet daily of an inexpensive medication, which she readily accepts – and she occasionally has to use an inhaler. She has lived with friendly cats in the past, but her reserved personality indicates that she might do best as an only cat. She would be happiest in a calm household with patient, gentle adults, and possibly older kids. This affectionate girl loves attention, enjoys being brushed, gives ankle rubs, and will be a devoted lifetime companion. Are you willing to provide a special needs kitty a loving forever home? Her kittens grew up and were adopted and Tana'i has been living in a loving foster home learning to trust humans. She loves head pets and chin scratches but is not a "needy" girl -- she would be the perfect kitty companion for someone who works a lot so she can save up her affections. Her favorite toys are a laser light and her stuffed ostrich and she goes completely silly for catnip. She would prefer a quiet home without noisy kids. She does well with other kitties after a proper introduction and might be OK with a respectful dog. She has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed – plus you get a free vet visit. Tana'i is currently in foster care. Her adoption fee is $90 which helps us pay it forward to other neglected and abandoned kitties. To meet her or for more information, call 541-225-4955 option 1 or send an email to www.CatRescues.org. ID#1511-C0559N. GOOD WITH OTHER CATS QUIET OLDER KIDS ONLY OK WITH RESPECTFUL DOGS

[PLEASE NOTE Cats in these pictures, may or may not be available for adoptions] Cat Rescue & Adoption Network foster families give their kitties lots of TLC and attention. Because of that, we have very well socialized cats that are readily adopted. We always need more fosters to help fulfill our mission of helping rescue special needs animals. Fosters are provided with all the food, bedding and litter the cat needs. We also pay all their medical expenses. Your part is to give them love and attention and how hard can that be? This is the perfect opportunity to have a pet without a life time commitment. Fostering lasts anywhere from one week to several months and YOU get to choose whether you foster bottle babies, kittens or adult cats AND how many. If you live in the Eugene/Springfield, Oregon area and have love to spare for these kitties, please call 541-225-4955 or fill out a foster application by following this link.
