Kira
KIRA is a very sweet 9-year-old female black and gray tabby with beautiful soft fur. She and her mother Portia were surrendered by a loving home when a divorce occurred. She is initially shy, but once confident in her home she is very human oriented and loves to be with her people – she most likely will become a professional lap cat. She will require a quiet place to get started when acclimating to her new home. Kira purrs readily, will do head rubs and bumps, and enjoys interactive toys like Da Bird. She and her mother are healthy, but are on a prescription kidney diet (which they gobble down), to prevent future problems. They are completely happy living indoors, but could potentially be indoor/outdoor kitties in a home with a VERY safe outdoor environment. Kira is very bonded with Portia and they must be adopted together – thus we are offering them at a special sponsored price of $100 for the pair. Kira has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free wellness exam. Meet Kira & Portia in their foster home with an approved adoption application which can be submitted online at www.CatRescues.org/forms or a paper copy available at either Eugene PetSmart, Petco (Valley River Rd.) or Wags! Dog Emporium. The adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. Portia
PORTIA is a pretty little 10-year-old light grey tabby female kitty with soft, fine fur. She and her daughter Kira were surrendered by a loving home when a divorce occured. She is very shy and it will take a little patience to allow her to become comfortable in her new home. Like Kira whe will purr and give you head bumps, and while she enjoys playing, she would much rather spend time on a lap getting attention. She and her daughter are healthy, but are on a prescription kidney diet (which they gobble down), to prevent future problems. They are completely happy living indoors, but could potentially be indoor/outdoor kitties in a home with a VERY safe outdoor environment. Portia is very bonded with Kira (she will sometimes meow loudly if she can’t find her daughter), and they must be adopted together – thus we are offering them at a special sponsored price of $100 for the pair. Portia has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free wellness exam. Meet Portia & Kira in their foster home with an approved adoption application which can be submitted online at www.CatRescues.org/forms or a paper copy available at either Eugene PetSmart, Petco (Valley River Rd.) or Wags! He is very affectionate and loves being held. He will even reach out with his paws to gently touch your face. He is your typical playful kitten, he plays with toys of all sorts, bounding around the room full of energy, meowing when he wants your attention and purring the moment he is picked up. Cookie Pot is a quick-learning, sensitive little guy who will capture your heart with his affectionate and silly nature. As an active young kitten, it is very important that Cookie Pot be adopted into a household with another kitten or where there is another playful young cat in the home. Bella
BELLA is a gorgeous little dilute tortie girl nearly three years old with thick, plush fur and the prettiest green eyes you can imagine. She is on the shy side and with love and patience, she warms up slowly to her human companion. Her favorite thing to do is to sit in the window and gaze out at the birds. She would probably do well with another shy, quiet cat. Bella was part of a colony of neighborhood cats in Eugene, and was taken into a loving foster home where she gave birth to a litter of kittens (all adopted now). Bella subsequently went to the vet where she received “the works” and was given an excellent bill of health. Now this sweet, beautiful girl is awaiting your visit, and hopefully you will make her yours furrever! Bella does very well with other cats in her space, but should not be in a home with children or dogs - she thrives in a peaceful setting! She does appear to be fearful of men as well. Bella has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Bella is currently in foster care. For adoption consideration, complete an application at www.CatRescues.org/forms or paper copy available at either Eugene PetSmart store. Once we have your application, a volunteer will call to determine best fit and arrange a possible meet/greet. NOODLE is a gorgeous Siamese-mix female young kitty, estimated to be about a year old. Active and curious, she enjoys playing and running with her kittens, chasing pompoms around the house, and interacting with her favorite humans. She can be shy at first, but in general she is very affectionate, and enjoys being around and being petted by people! Noodle gets along fine with other cats, and after a slow introduction, has also acclimated to dogs. Noodle and her seven kittens were rescued from a rural property that was on its way to being overrun by cats. She has been used to being an indoor/outdoor kitty, and would enjoy having access to the outside as long as her adopter has a VERY SAFE outdoor environment. Noodle is looking for a home where her need for affection and attention can be met! She has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free wellness exam. Prance
PRANCE is a confident and affectionate, solid white 10-month-old female kitty. She wants YOU to be her playmate although she also likes other cats if they are friendly and mellow. Her favorite things are when you play with a string toy she can chase around and when you spend time holding, petting, and brushing her. She is a demanding girl that shows how much she appreciates you with affectionate little "love nibbles" on your cheek, chin or hand so Prance will need a human that doesn't get startled by these expressions of her affection and accepts them as part of her wonderful, quirky personality. She would do best in a home with cat-savvy humans that want to spend a lot of time with her and with a friendly and playful kitty companion (overly dominant or super shy cats would not be a good match for this confident girl). Prance is a heart-stealer that knows what she wants and is looking for the perfect forever home that will love and adore her "no holds barred" approach to life. Prance has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free wellness exam. Mercy
NPBMERCY is a beautiful, long-haired Siamese mix female with stunning lilac points, estimated to be between 6 and 7 years old. Mercy was surrendered to our cat rescue group after her owner passed away and she is now looking for her forever home. She is a very affectionate girl and adores being brushed and curling up on your lap. Mercy still enjoys a little play time with the laser pointer or feather flier but is a calm girl who enjoys "talking" with her people. Her ideal home would be with a mature person, or couple, who live in a quiet environment. Mercy loves to be out in the open air, without it she will try to bolt when the door is opened, so she needs access to a catio or a safe outdoor space. Mercy needs to be the only cat in the home, as other cats are very frightening to her, no matter how docile, and she needs to be in a child-free home. She has done well with calm, friendly dogs after a slow introduction. This sweet girl deserves a quiet life with someone who will love her forever. Mercy has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet wellness exam. Meet Mercy in her foster home with an approved adoption application which can be submitted online at www.CatRescues.org/forms or a paper copy available at either Eugene PetSmart, Petco (Valley River Dr.), or Wags! FLASHY is an exuberant medium-haired black and white tuxedo female kitten with a cute black nose, about 3 months old. She has a black mask with a white chest and adorable long white whiskers. Flashy is quite adventurous and likes to explore. She is comfortable with people right away, has a hair-trigger purr motor, and relishes being held. She adores human contact and will reach out with a gentle paw to get your attention for petting. Flashy loves soft little toys that she can bat around and carry in her mouth. She was raised as a bottle baby by a loving family that rescued her from under their porch along with her two siblings so they are all very trusting of humans. A loving family would be lucky to have this little girl in their home. Like most active and sociable young kittens, it is important that Flashy be in a home with another kitten (such as her sister Bobbie) or a playful young cat for companionship. PEPPERMINT is a long-haired female tortoiseshell kitty who is estimated to be around 6 1/2 years old. She has the most darling ear tufts and she seems to know that they make her especially cute! Peppermint was taken in by a kind gentleman who found her outside his home, and after being surrendered to our cat rescue group, she has been thriving in one of our foster's homes. Peppermint loves to play and jump onto high places! She is very social and still has a very kitten-like personality, curious and friendly. Peppermint tested positive for the feline leukemia virus (FeLV) but she is currently a healthy girl (we have thoroughly checked her out, and her bloodwork shows the virus has not entered her bone marrow), so the prognosis is good that she has many years of life left in her. Peppermint would do well in a home with another FeLV+ kitty. She has tested negative for FIV, is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free wellness exam. STRANGER is an extra large male black and tan tabby kitty around 11 years old. This poor fellow was abandoned at his foster mom's doorstep, and in the beginning he was very scared – but he has blossomed into such a loving kitty. Stranger likes to be wherever you are and will put his paw on your arm so you know he’s close by and ready for attention. The only thing he loves more than his wet food is being petted by his people! He has tested positive for FIV (the feline immunodeficiency virus), but a lifetime as an indoor-only kitty to protect his immune system will likely enable him to lead a normal lifespan. The virus can't be passed to dogs or to people, and only to other cats through a deep bite wound. Beyond this, Stranger is in good health, and has had a complete dental performed. While safest as an only cat, Stranger enjoys the company of other mellow cats, and he does well with friendly dogs. Do you have a quiet home, and are ready for a devoted and loving companion? Stranger has been tested for feline leukemia (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet exam. She and her four siblings were rescued from an auto shop at 4 weeks old and have thrived in a loving foster home. Phoebe is a smart and energetic girl who loves to solve puzzles! Phoebe likes following the laser light, playing with crinkle balls and ping pong balls, as well as chasing her siblings around. She gets along very well with other older cats. Arthur
ARTHUR is a sweet and handsome short-haired black male kitty estimated to be about 4 years old. He showed up last fall at a farm home in Pleasant Hill, and the owners had him neutered and vetted, thinking that he wanted to be an outside cat. It soon became clear that he is friendly and loving, and they began to allow him into the house. Arthur is a quiet, well-behaved boy who enjoys attention and loves to play. He will mostly spend his time lounging on the couch (see picture), but he has recently started voluntarily getting into his owner's lap. He is cautious of strangers, but is comfortable once he knows them. With a slow introduction, he has gotten along well with the older resident female cat. He loves to spend time outdoors and is an outstanding mouser - but his current owners must sell their farm and move to the city. Arthur would be happiest as an indoor-outdoor kitty on a country property, as he is not used to cars. It is possible that he could be transitioned to a mostly indoor cat in a very safe urban location (such as a cul-de-sac), as he is quite content lying in a warm spot and playing with his toys and scratching pad. Arthur is in foster care with his current owner. For adoption consideration, complete an application at www.CatRescues.org/forms or paper copy available at either Eugene PetSmart store. Once we have your application, a volunteer will call to determine best fit and arrange a meet/greet at Arthur's current home. Mr. Cat is a handsome young adult brown tabby male kitty, estimated to be about 3 years old. He has the silkiest coat with pretty gold undertones and the cutest chubby cheeks. Mr. Cat is very shy at first, but with some time to acclimate, he loves attention and loves to be petted – he will even flip on to his back for belly rubs. He likes to play, and string toys are his favorite. He would be fine in a home with children who know how to be gentle with cats. He was non-reactive when meeting the laid-back cat in his foster home, and would probably be fine with another mellow cat with a very SLOW introduction. The foster family’s high-energy golden retriever made him very nervous, but he might be OK with a very mellow dog. Mr. Cat was found as a stray fending for himself on the streets, and he has tested positive for FIV (the feline immunodeficiency virus). FIV kitties can live a normal, healthy lifespan with good care as an indoor-only cat. FIV can only be transmitted to another cat through a deep bite wound, and can’t be transmitted to dogs or to people. Mr. Cat’s foster parents describe him as “one of the most precious cats we’ve ever had the pleasure of caring for”. Can you give this sweet boy from the streets the pampered life he so deserves? He has had a complete dental, is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for FELV, microchipped, and has been defleaed and dewormed. KATRINE & FLICKA are a bonded pair of stepsisters who found each other in foster care and have been inseparable ever since! FLICKA is a large, affectionate calico girl about a year old. She was rescued from a rural colony and brought to the clinic for her spay and ear tip, where it was discovered that she is quite friendly and more suited to a life indoors. Her smaller sidekick KATRINE is also a year old, all black with a white patch on her chest. She is more energetic and active than Flicka, but at the end of the day they curl up together for a snooze. Katrine was found abandoned with her siblings on a rural country lane. Both girls are friendly and like their humans, once they learn they can trust you – but they get easily stressed when their environment changes, so they will need a patient adopter. In exchange for patience, you will get head bumps and loud purring from Flicka, and snuggles and kisses from Katrine. Katrine likes to be picked up and held; Flicka prefers all four paws on the ground, but will happily sit next to you on the couch. Flicka
FLICKA & KATRINE are a bonded pair of stepsisters who found each other in foster care and have been inseparable ever since! This bonded pair is being offered at a special sponsored adoption fee of $125 for the pair. They have been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (they are negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free wellness exam. Meet Flicka and Katrine at the cattery inside our partner Wags! Dog & Cat Emporium, 485 Coburg Rd #G, Eugene OR 97401. ISABEL & QUINN (known as Quinnabel) are a bonded pair of teenager kittens who are looking for their forever home together. They are not siblings by birth, but have been inseparable in foster care. Isabel is an affectionate 7-month-old little tabby/tortie ('torbie') girl with stunning orange markings. She is an absolute purr machine and likes to make biscuits on blankets or on her big brother Quinn. Quinn is a handsome solid gray male with cutely crossed strikingly yellow eyes and faint tabby markings, about 11 months old. They are both shy and they will need a patient adopter that understands that they will take awhile to come out of their shells. Isabel & Quinn were rescued as older kittens from a rural area and have been living in a loving foster home with dogs and other cats. They love to be picked up and held like babies. With a little TLC and patience, they will develop a strong bond with people and become sweet and loyal companions. Isabel & Quinn must be adopted together, thus they are being offered at a special adoption fee of $150 for the pair. PRINCESS is an affectionate fluffy, long-haired brown tabby female kitty, about 4 years old. This charming lady has been living behind a disguise for several months! When she was rescued by a kind man, her disguise was something called an eosinophilic granuloma -- a fancy scientific word for a fat lip! With good medical care, Princess' lip has returned to its previously beautiful state. She has been on a course of prednisolone, under the care of a skilled veterinarian, and her health has steadily improved. In her foster home she has enjoyed playing with her catnip mice and scratching on sturdy scratching posts. She likes to be by the window to gaze outside and nap in the sun. Princess is full of big purrs and loves to be petted & brushed. Princess loves the companionship of humans, but she does not trust nor does she like other cats. She enjoys receiving attention from children who have been taught to respect a beautiful princess like herself. Loud noises frighten her, as do sudden movements. Princess is looking forward to finding her forever royal residence with the right family. Princess has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), was already spayed when she was rescued, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet wellness exam. The sweet and talkative girl becomes very attached to her humans and enjoys long sessions of petting, head scratches, and kind words. She prefers not to be picked up, but will happily sit next to you and may even sit on your lap once she comes to know you. Her favorite toys are small balls with bells inside, and Da Bird toy. She finds Halo Chicken Treats irresistible, and they have been the inspiration for her Cat Pawsitive training. While she is still working to master her skills, Sissy has learned to high five, come when called, and nose tap. She will tolerate other mellow cats, but likely would be happiest as the only cat. LICORICE is a gorgeous young male kitty with luxurious fluffy black fur, estimated to be about 1 ½ yrs old. He was found living under a vacant mobile home during the winter’s ice storms. Energetic and playful, he will happily spend hours chasing feather on-a-stick and other wand toys, pausing occasionally to jump into your lap for a good caress. He will need a quiet, slow introduction to any new people or places before his naturally sunny personality emerges, but once you have earned his trust, he will happily play with you for hours, and let you brush his beautiful fluff. Licorice has tested positive for FIV (the feline immunodeficiency virus) which means that he must be an indoor-only kitty for his lifetime – but he’s a healthy, vigorous boy, and with some precautions to protect his immune system, he will likely have a normal lifespan. The virus can't be passed to dogs or to people, and only to other cats through a deep bite wound. Licorice can become a bit excited during playtime and forget how sharp his claws are, so he will need a cat-savvy adopter. If you are looking for an awesome cat to spend tons of playtime with, and are willing to invest the time to win his trust, Licorice is the cat for you! He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, treated for fleas and dewormed and tested negative for Felv – plus he comes with a free vet visit. She loves batting toys across the floor, playing with feather on a stick, and receiving lots of pets from her humans. In fact, she will let you know she needs attention by meowing at you, turning on her purr motor, and sometimes pulling your hand to her head with her front paws to get more pets! She is a very loving and playful young cat who will purr while eating, playing, and when she sees her favorite humans. Dexxie is a very healthy girl, but she does have an itchy skin condition which we are currently treating with cortisone shots. Her vet is working on a long-term solution, so Dexxie will require some extra vet monitoring. She would really enjoy having at least one other playful young cat in her new forever home. Samantha
dob is estimateSAMANTHA is a very special, fluffy black middle-aged girl kitty about 9 yrs old, who was nearly dead when she was found by a kindly young woman in Oakridge a year ago. Samantha went to live in a loving foster home, and when her foster mom took her to the vet, she was expecting that she was too far gone to be saved. To her delight, Samantha had an easily treatable thyroid imbalance, and within a month had completely regained her health and is now a beautiful, loving and affectionate cat. All she needs to stay healthy is a small, inexpensive half-pill twice daily for the rest of her life (the cost is under $10 per month). Samantha loves to be picked up and stroked, to sit on laps, and to happily cuddle with her human. She has a calm and gentle demeanor, and will thrive in a quiet, stable household. She gets along fine with other mellow, non-aggressive cats. This sweet and lovely girl has a tremendous amount of love to give to her lucky person or people. Samantha has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet exam. Nora
NORA is a sweet young adult female kitty with beautiful, glossy black fur, about 5 years old. She was rescued as a teenager and went to live in a loving foster home. She was very shy at first, but she has learned that humans have gentle hands, bring food and toys, and give her gentle pets. She enjoys playtime with feather-on-a-stick and fuzzy toys that she can bat at and "capture." Nora was finally adopted, but she had to be returned to us when her new owner lost her home. This poor kitty is ready for a stable forever home! She will need a quiet household and an adopter who is patient and gentle -- but once she gets to know her new people, they will be rewarded with a sweet and loving lap cuddler who is full of purrs! Nora is curious about new places, but she likes to start out with a safe spot where she can observe her world, then work her way into her new surroundings. Nora might do best as the only cat, although she does seem to do OK with other mellow kitties who don't push her around. She has been testedfor feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Kitty is currently in foster care. Zoe
Sponsored Adoption?ZOE is a cute little older adult female black and white tuxedo kitty about 14 years old. She was brought into a local vet and surrendered as a very frightened and upset kitty – she may have been abused in her past – but she has settled down now, and is extremely outgoing and affectionate. She adores being petted and loves all the attention she can get. She is quite scared of dogs, and is not a fan of other cats, although she has been OK with some of the other mellow cats in her foster facility. Zoe is currently on a prescription diet, and receives an inexpensive Prednisolone pill daily (which she readily eats in a pill pocket). This sweet girl just needs a quiet home and a kind-hearted adopter who is willing to give this older adult with a difficult past a chance at a new life – and they will be rewarded with a devoted and loving companion. Zoe has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, and has had a complete dental. Her adoption fee is $60, which allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for other abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. Zoe is currently in foster care; for information on how to meet this kitty, please call 541-225-4955 option 1 or send an email to adoptinfo@CatRescues.org. Then submit an adoption application that can be found online (www.CatRescues.org/forms) or a hard copy available at the Petsmart catteries. Tana'i
TANA'I is a beautiful and sweet black and white tuxedo female adult kitty. One veterinarian estimated her age at 3 years old and another at 6 years old but we believe her to be closer to 3. She was found homeless and pregnant and subsequently had her babies after she was rescued. Her kittens grew up and were adopted and Tana'i has been living in a loving foster home learning to trust humans. She loves head pets and chin scratches but is not a "needy" girl -- she would be the perfect kitty companion for someone who works a lot so she can save up her affections. Her favorite toys are a laser light and her stuffed ostrich and she goes completely silly for catnip. She would prefer a quiet home without noisy kids. She does well with other kitties after a proper introduction and might be OK with a respectful dog. She has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed – plus you get a free vet visit. Tana'i is currently in foster care. Her adoption fee is $90 which helps us pay it forward to other neglected and abandoned kitties. To meet her or for more information, call 541-225-4955 option 1 or send an email to www.CatRescues.org.
