Trudy
TRUDY is a very special young adult female cat who has feline leukemia. She is a gorgeous combination of a calico and a tortoiseshell, and is about 3 years old. Trudy is a bit shy at first in new surroundings, but once she feels safe, she is super affectionate and loving. She races to you when you come in the door and rolls around for pets and belly rubs. She wants to sit on your lap and to be a part of all the happenings in your household. Feline leukemia kitties typically lead a healthy life until they reach the end of their disease. Her lifespan will likely be shorter than that of a normal cat, but Trudy is currently in excellent health, and should have many more years to bring joy into the lives of her lucky new forever person or family. She must be an indoor-only cat, and she needs to be an only kitty or live with other FeLV-positive cats (she gets along great with other kitties). Trudy is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, has been defleaed and dewormed, and is negative for FIV. Beau
BEAU is a 5-month old short-haired male kitten, with gold-green eyes, a lustrous black coat, and just a little tuft of white in his ears. Beau can be a shy boy when you first meet him, but once he's had a little time to assess the situation, he will show you his loving and gentle nature. Beau thrives on playtime with his siblings. He loves to chase them around to get his zoomies out and wrestle once he catches them! One quick way to win over this gentleman is to bust out the wand toys, he goes crazy for them and his shyness melts away if a new person plays with him. He can't get enough of batting around mice toys either. Beau and his littermates, along with their parents, were found in the backyard of a good Samaritan in Junction City who reached out to our cat rescue group so they could all be fixed and given loving forever homes. Beau needs a family that appreciates his sweetness and sensitivity. Could you be the safe, loving home this boy has been waiting for? As an active young kitten it is critical that Beau be adopted into a home with another kitten (such as his sibling Star) or young, playful cat for companionship. STAR is a 5-month-old black tortoiseshell female kitten, with brilliant gold eyes that reflect the flecks of orange in her mostly dark coat. In reality, this sweetie can be a bit shy, mostly when meeting new people, but she warms right up to you once you've earned her trust. Offering her a little wet food will get you one step closer to her heart, it's her favorite. Star will seek out pets and affection, but would rather be near you than glued to your lap-good news for families who don't like to bother with the lint roller! Star and her littermates, along with their parents, were found in the backyard of a good Samaritan in Junction City who reached out to our cat rescue group so they could all be fixed and given loving forever homes. Emilio
EMILIO is an adorable medium-haired orange and white male kitten with faint tabby markings in his orange patches, about 5 months old. He is a little motor boat and starts purring a mile a minute when he sees you. When Emilio is not playing, he will hold your cheeks with his paws and give you big kisses before falling fast asleep. He enjoys pouncing on the toy mice, chasing the wands and running through a cat tunnel. Emilio and his sister Pucci were rescued as very young kittens and brought to our cat rescue group for fostering. Pucci relies on Emilio for confidence, so we recommend them to be adopted together; however, each kitten can be adopted into a home with another kitten or playful young cat. Emilio has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet wellness exam. GABLE is a cheerful and energetic young black and white tuxedo male kitty about a year old. This sweet guy loves absolutely everybody of all ages. If you have an available lap for him to explore, he will hop into your lap, hop out, and then hop back in after some play time. Bring him a toy on a stick, a shoelace, or some catnip mice - and watch him go crazy! Gable was brought as a stray into a local vet with a badly injured tail, but with medical care and lots of TLC in his foster home, he is completely well now. He would probably like a buddy to hang out with in his new home - a cheerful, playful cat or a quiet, easygoing dog might make purrfect companions for this easygoing guy. Cali
CALI is a beautiful and petite long-haired tortoiseshell female kitty estimated to be about 9 to 11 years old. It would be hard to find a sweeter cat than Cali - she just adores being loved on, and is completely happy to snuggle endlessly in your lap. She has a mellow disposition, and doesn't seem to mind other cats at all. Cali has a benign condition that affects her balance -- she sways when she walks, and will sometimes fall over - but other than some very early kidney disease (which is controlled by a prescription kidney diet), she is in good health. She was brought to a local vet hospital and surrendered because her owners did not want to deal with her balance problems. This affectionate girl will thrive in a quiet home with a cat-savvy adopter, and will make such a loving companion for her new owners. Cali has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet wellness exam. Ohana
OHANA is an adorable and curious black and white tuxedo male kitten, about 3 1/2 months old, with a white bib and four little white boots. His unique markings, a half-white muzzle and pink and black nose, have already proved how handsome he is. As soon as he sees you, he immediately lets loose an affectionate purr motor. Ohana lives up to his name (meaning family in Hawaiian), as he loves nothing more than being in the company of and playing with his humans and other kitties. Ohana is the alpha of the family who thinks he is in charge, so his ideal companion needs to be a young playful cat that accepts his assertiveness. His favorite activities are chasing the red dot and wrestling with the little catnip mice. While he isn't playing, Ohana spends his days gazing at the birds and taking naps in the sun. Ohana and his two siblings were rescued as abandoned kittens, found under a building in dire need of nourishment and care. They were placed in a loving foster home where they were raised as bottle babies and flourished. As an active, young kitten, it is critical that Ohana be in a home with another dominant kitten or a young playful cat he can chase and play with. ACORN is an adventurous 5-month-old brown tabby male kitten. He was the most curious of his blended family, and by far the most social. Acorn loves to explore, investigate, and lead the parade! While not quite the alpha in his group, he's definitely a leader and would do well with another playful animal. He gets along well with his foster family's active golden retriever, resident cats and two young children. Acorn was part of a kitty family where two mama cats were co-parenting two litters together. The kitty family was rescued from a life on the streets of Junction City by a caring mom and her daughter who asked our cat rescue group to help the blended feline family get healthy and ready for adoption. M&M is a short-haired male kitten with silky black fur, about 4 months old. M&M has paws that remind you of jelly beans or chocolate chips with a soft cocoa tummy to match. M&M can be distinguished from his sable siblings by his gorgeous green eyes and a slight crook in his tail, which is shorter than his littermates'. M&M is a super sweet and cuddly boy. He purrs like a John Deere tractor whenever you pet him or when he's ready to nap. He enjoys perching on your shoulder like a parrot when he's not pursuing his sisters, Nestle and Starburst, or brother Nutella. When he loses track of his foster human, he will meow until she reassures him that she's nearby. His favorite toys are soft felt mice and a feather wand which he leaps high into the air to catch. Quite the athlete, M&M is almost able to balance on his hind legs as he reaches for the wand. M&M's siblings find him to be their favorite cuddle buddy at bedtime, possibly attracted by his loud purr, so it is critical that he be adopted with one of his siblings. M&M and his three siblings were found by an elderly gentleman nearby a car dealership off Hwy 99 and surrendered to our cat rescue group. Nestle
NESTLE is a scrumptious, short-haired female kitten, about 4 months old. Nestle's name originates from her chocolate brown and black silky coat and the nature of her personality which is total sweetness. She shares with her siblings Nutella, Starburst and M&M, a brown cocoa colored tummy that she enjoys having rubbed at naptime. Nestle can be distinguished from her siblings by her brilliant golden eyes and by a tiny patch of about 20 white hairs on her throat. Nestle's personality is the perfect balance of playful and gentle. Like her sister, Starburst, Nestle is close to mastering the art of balancing on her hind legs while trying to snatch a string or feather wand. She is also adept at leaping into the air to catch felt mice in mid-air. Similar to her siblings, she plays no favorites and joins in with whatever chase is happening. Nestle has a loving, cuddly side as well, seeking out her foster human on the sofa for a quick nap or in joining her siblings in a puddle of chocolate as they curl up together at the end of the evening. Exceptionally bonded with her brothers Nutella and M&M and sister, Starburst, it is critical that she be adopted with one of them. Nestle and her three siblings were found by an elderly gentleman nearby a car dealership off Hwy 99 and surrendered to our cat rescue group. Nutella
NUTELLA is a short-haired male kitten, about 4 months old. Nutella, like his name suggests, is a sweet treat, with a shiny fur coat that looks both deep brown and black, depending upon the lighting. Nutella can be distinguished from his sable siblings by his soft amber eyes and a slight bend at the end of his tail, which is longer and thinner than his brother M&M's. Nutella can be both playful and cuddly and is respectful of the foster family's two older cats. He enjoys trying to catch toy mice in mid-air and chasing his sisters throughout the house until he gets distracted by a felt ball or abandoned string. Like his siblings, he loves to nestle with his foster human and nap after an exhausting afternoon of play. He may be developing an interest in cooking as he often politely sits on a stool, watching his foster human prepare dinner. Nutella's special talents are in his dash and dart, hide and pounce abilities. Never a bully, he is a gentle playmate who sometimes concedes to his super athletic sister, Starburst. Nutella is bonded with all his littermates and doesn't play favorites so he can be adopted with any of his siblings. Nutella and his three siblings were found by an elderly gentleman nearby a car dealership off Hwy 99 and surrendered to our cat rescue group. Starburst
STARBURST is a delectable short-haired female kitten, with a dark coat in shades of chocolate and licorice. Starburst has two distinguishing white marks, one on her throat and one on her tummy, and glistening green eyes that shine against her dark fur. Starburst is the gymnastic star in her family, named for her bursts of energy. Starburst is a match for any of her playful siblings, Nutella, Nestle and M&M. She is the leader of the litter, bold and brave, who is the first to try out new tricks when tempted with feathers and wands. She has almost perfected the art of balancing on her hind legs while attempting to snag a string or capture a feather wand. Next up, the balance beam? Along with her athletic prowess, Starburst is a serious cuddle bug with a purr to match. When you reach down to pet her, she leans in and obliges with a loving return of affection. Starburst does not hesitate to chase down her siblings and snatch their prey, usually a favorite tiny felt mouse. She has a cute trick of collecting her toys and depositing them in a cardboard box or in a pile on the floor. Exceptionally bonded with her brothers Nutella and M&M and sister, Nestle, it is critical that she be adopted with one of them. Starburst and her three siblings were found by an elderly gentleman nearby a car dealership off Hwy 99 and surrendered to our cat rescue group. Starburst and her siblings (M&M, Nestle or Nutella) are so bonded, they have a special, sponsored adoption fee of $200 a pair (normally $140 per kitten or $260/2 kittens). The adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. Starburst has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet wellness exam. Tokatee
TOKATEE is a beautiful short haired gray female kitten, about 3 1/2 months old. She has a cute white spot on her throat. She is highly energetic, and loves nothing more than a rough and tumble with another cat, or a vigorous play session with a willing human. She is particularly fond of chasing wire kitty dancers, chasing pompoms around the room, or leaping high in the air for dangling feather toys. Tokatee is not at all shy, never hides, and enjoys being in the presence of familiar humans. Despite these positive social characteristics, she is still learning to enjoy being petted and handled; potential adopters will need to commit to working with her in this area. Tokatee is responsive to food rewards, so a training program that incorporates treats with desired social behaviors should be successful in improving her enjoyment of being handled. As an active young kitten, it's critical that Tokatee be adopted into a home with another kitten (such as her sister Koosah ID #1908-C0468) or young cat for companionship. Tokatee will make a wonderful companion to someone who is willing to invest time and patience into helping her overcome her sensitivities to being handled. Tokatee has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet wellness exam. Koosah
KOOSAH is an adorable calico female kitten, about 3 1/2 months old, with orange and black patches on her short white hair. She is not at all shy, never hides, and is very active and playful girl. One of her favorite activities is to raucously run about the house with her two littermates, although she is playful with humans too! She enjoys chasing anything that moves from a feather toy to a dog's leash (even while still attached to the dog!). While Koosah enjoys being around people (she will follow them around and sit near them), she is somewhat aloof when it comes to being directly handled and petted. Great progress was made at her foster home and her new family should continue to work with her by tying food rewards and treats with positive engagement. Koosah came to our cat rescue group as a very young kitten along with her mother and two siblings. As a young and active kitten it is critical that Koosah be adopted into a home where there is another kitten (such as her sister Tokatee ID #1908-C0467) or a playful young animal (she does well with dogs and other cats) to continue to help her develop socially. With a little bit of effort Koosah will be a delighftul and adaptable companion. She will share your bed with you at night and also enjoys lounging in sunny windowsills during the day. She has no qualms about being picked up and being handled and will sit and be petted for as long as you want. She enjoys children and adults alike and adjusts seamlessly with other household pets. PATTY PAN is a sweet medium-haired dark tortoiseshell female kitten, about 5 months old. Shy and sweet Patty Pan has really come out of her shell as she has matured. She loves to lie in the sun and appreciates a good pampering. She sometimes relies on her siblings for confidence, so another young kitten in the home is a must. Patty Pan was part of a kitty family where two mama cats were co-parenting two litters together. The kitty family was rescued from a life on the streets of Junction City by a caring mom and her daughter who asked our cat rescue group to help the blended feline family get healthy and ready for adoption. As an active young kitten it is critical that Patty Pan be adopted into a home with another kitten (such as her sister Delicata, in foster care) or young, playful cat for companionship. Mitzi
MITZI is a perky young black and white short-haired female kitty about 3 1/2 years old. She was a sweet and friendly little girl whose world changed when her owners got another cat. She became anxious and stressed, and attacked her own tail until it had to be amputated. She lived for 8 months at the vet's office, where with lots of TLC and some anti-anxiety medications, she has reverted back to her sweet self. She loves attention and being petted, and bonds strongly with most people - but she can be fearful of new people and environments, and will occasionally swat. Mitzi LOVES to play with toys - feathers on a stick and lasers are her favorite. She is a cat with a lively personality, and she will need a very cat-savvy household with a quiet environment and plenty of exploration space (she adores cat trees). She should be in a home with no other cats and dogs, and during periods of transition she may require her anti-anxiety medication (which she readily accepts in her food). Mitzi is now living in a loving foster home, is litterbox trained, and is in excellent health. This young girl is ready to meet her new forever family! Mitzi has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet wellness exam. Morticia
MORTICIA is a little black cat with a Personality! Elegant and languid, her sleek blackness showcases her expressive, gold eyes. When you get a 'slow blink' from this 3 1/2 year old, you'll know you've arrived. Adopted as a single kitten into a raucous young child's world, her sensitive nature was overpowered and she learned defensive, self-protective behaviors. In her quiet, adult foster home, her nerves have settled and she has benefited from the slower pace and calm, loving attention. She entertains herself when you're not available and can be heard playing with a ping pong ball in the bathtub or chasing her tail beneath the curtains. She was raised alone without other animal companions and has not appreciated the resident cats in her foster home - she will need to be an Only Cat in her new home without children or other pets. While attentive to your actions, she is not a 'needy, in-your-face-all-the-time' kind of girl. She naps soundly all afternoon and would be a good match for a working adult who would like a buddy. She has a demure squeak of a voice most often heard around mealtimes. She will hop on your lap for loving but generally prefers to be nearby rather than on top of you which makes her very easy to live with and enjoy. She can be quite entertaining hunting wand toys and 'killing them' with expressive growls as you make the 'prey' come alive. She isn't shy, is eager to meet new humans and will need an experienced, dedicated adopter to map her reactive spots and help her continue to calm and relax in a quiet home. She has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free wellness exam. MAGNOLIA is a beautiful 5-month-old female kitty who is a combination of a gray tabby and a tortoiseshell (often called a "torbie") with white paws. She is the bravest and most curious of her litter. Magnolia loves to be the center of attention and seeks out humans after playtime to take a nice rest on their laps. At night she will climb on top of you and purr the night away. Magnolia has a quirky, squeaky meow and will let you know when she is around. She is active and loves to wrestle with her siblings. Magnolia was rescued on the farm of one of our cat rescue group volunteers along with her siblings and friendly mom, living in an old seed container without adequate access to food. Magnolia is very bonded to both sisters Cullen and Strawberry and must be adopted as a pair ($260) or trio ($370). Magnolia has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet wellness exam. Meet Magnolia in her foster home with an approved adoption application which can be submitted online at CatRescues.org/Cat or a paper copy available at either Eugene PetSmart, Petco (Valley River Dr.) or Wags! JANIS JOPLIN is a petite dark orange tabby female kitten with beautiful swirls, about 4 months old. She is a playful, athletic, funny little buzz ball who is sometimes a lover and sometimes a feisty wrestler (always gently) who settles down on your lap when she realizes how good pets feel. Other times she chooses solitude! She enjoys chasing the ball, pouncing on anything nearby and chasing or playing with one and all. She plays well with all her siblings and loves running up, on, and around the kitty tree. Janis is fearless, not startled by much and with no desire to escape outside. One of a litter of four, found at two days old with his three siblings and mother in a garage behind a furnace. Janis has been raised in a loving foster environment where she interacts with three adult cats along with her siblings and a Labrador retriever and most humans! He has a great motor when he snuggles up to you, friendly kids, even friendly dogs! He has been lovingly attended to by his foster family's dogs and cats, and even lets their Dachshund groom him. Randolf likes sleeping in the window high on the cat tree and loves to play with little soft toys. He loves to chase his brother through the kitty tunnel, which will entertain him for hours. This playful guy is a friend to all, human, feline, canine, he just can't get enough. Riley loves chasing toys through the house, running through the kitty tunnel, or up and down the cat tree. After he gets his zoomies out, he loves to cuddle up in your lap or next to one of his animal friends. At night he prefers to crawl into his human's bed for snuggles. His foster family says Riley and his brother were practically raised by their dogs, but he hasn't quite gotten the hang of wagging his tail...yet! Riley and his brother were taken in by our cat rescue group to be fostered and bottle fed after their mother had to have an emergency spay. KIT is a 5 1/2-month-old brown and black tabby male with golden eyes and short, silky-smooth fur. He's a calm and independent boy, and though he's shy, he's very sweet and loving. Kit was originally part of a project that was spaying and neutering cats in a cat colony (hence his ear tip), but during his recovery, his rescuer soon realized, though, that this sweet boy is a gentle soul, and he belongs indoors with a family. Since he is shy, Kit would benefit from being adopted into a home with another kitten (such as his sibling Sizzle), or where there is a friendly and nurturing young cat. He's not a fan of loud noises or strangers, but when things are quiet, he'll come out of his cubby and look for his people. Though Kit will need and understanding and patient home, whoever adopts him will be rewarded with an extremely loving and sweet companion for life. ISABEL & QUINN (known as Quinnabel) are a bonded pair of 1-year-old kitties who are looking for their forever home together. They are not siblings by birth, but have been inseparable in foster care. ISABEL is an affectionate petite tabby/tortie ('torbie') girl with stunning orange markings. She is an absolute purr machine and likes to make biscuits on blankets or on her big brother Quinn. QUINN is a handsome solid gray male with cutely crossed strikingly yellow eyes and faint tabby markings. They are both shy and they will need a patient adopter that understands that they will take awhile to come out of their shells. Isabel and Quinn were rescued as older kittens from a rural area and have been living in a loving foster home with dogs and other cats. They love to be picked up and held like babies. With a little TLC and patience, they will develop a strong bond with people and become sweet and loyal companions. Isabel and Quinn are intensely bonded, thus they are being offered at a special adoption fee of $150 for the pair (normally $225 for 2 young cats). MOCHA is a super sweet female kitty with beautiful fluffy black fur about 12 years old. She is quiet and calm with a gentle little meow. Mocha absolutely adores human attention and loves gentle pets. She enjoys catnip mice and time with you. She was abandoned at a vet clinic and has thrived in her loving foster home. She has tested positive for FIV (the feline immunodeficiency virus) and must be an indoor-only kitty for her lifetime. With a few precautions to protect her immune system she will likely have a normal lifespan. The virus can't be passed to dogs or to people and only to other cats through a deep bite wound - thus Mocha should be an only cat (which she prefers). This kitty will make a wonderful companion for that special someone who will give her a forever home. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, is microchipped, treated for fleas and dewormed and tested negative for Felv - plus she comes with a free vet wellness visit. Fwedwick
FWEDWICK is a handsome medium-haired buff tabby male young kitty with a fluffy plume tail, just over a year old. He may be timid and cautious with new people and situations and will quickly accept attention and begin interaction when calmly approached. Once he is confident with his surroundings and people he becomes an active, playful kitten in an adult cat body! He loves to roughhouse. His favorite toys are rolling cat toys, boxes to hide and jump out of, and cardboard or carpet scratchers. He comes running when he is called (or when anyone is called. . . ) and just loves the attention! Fwedwick gets along with non-assertive cats, especially when they like to play and run around with him. His gregarious personality will fit best with other playful kittens and young playful cats. He enjoys being petted and will roll over to have his belly rubbed. He luxuriates in the pleasure of being brushed and responds with a loud purr that he uses often! He likes to nap and sleep with his people and will nudge your hand, face, or ears with his nose if he thinks he must have more affection before he falls asleep. He just wants to love and be loved. He does well with the little dog in his foster home but is somewhat intimidated by the big dog. He is good with gentle, older children and plays with the foster's 6-year-old granddaughter and enjoys being carried around with her and brushed by her. He does not miss a meal and is crazy about canned food and treats and likes to use the bathroom sink at times for a drink of fresh water. Fwedwick was rescued from a community cat colony in Springfield and went to live in a loving foster home where he has thrived. Currently (Nov. 2019), Fwedwick is having some difficulty with his mouth/teeth and a dental is scheduled for Dec. 6 for several extractions. It is anticipated he will continue to be a happy kitty (with a few less teeth~) after recovery. Fwedwick has tested positive for FIV (the feline immunodeficiency virus) which means he must be an indoor-only kitty for his lifetime. He's a healthy, vigorous boy and with some precautions to protect his immune system, he will likely have a normal lifespan. The virus can't be passed to dogs or people and only through a deep bite wound to other cats. Fwedwick is ready to inspire your life with his love and affection. ZOE is a cute and petite black and white tuxedo female kitty about 14 years old. She was brought into a local vet and surrendered as a frightened and upset kitty - she may have been abused in her past. With loving care in her foster home, she is now very outgoing and affectionate. She adores being petted and loves all the attention she can get. She is quite scared of dogs and does not get along with other cats, so she needs to be the only pet. Zoe is on a prescription diet, but otherwise has no medical issues. This sweet girl just needs a quiet home and a kind-hearted adopter who will give her the chance at a new life - and be rewarded with a devoted and loving companion. He's a reserved kitten who prefers to sit back and observe all the action happening around him - until he decides to join in with his siblings for a tumble or a game of "catch the fish". Lassen and his siblings were rescued along with their mother when they were found on the back porch of a Good Samaritan's house and the whole family was surrendered to our cat rescue group for fostering. Once acclimated, he is loving and friendly, and would make a wonderful addition to any home. Lassen would benefit greatly from being adopted into a home with one or more of his siblings (Shasta or Siskiyou) or where there is a young, playful animal for companionship. Lassen has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free wellness exam. HICKORY is a handsome brown and black ticked tabby boy, estimated to be about 5 months old, who is still growing into his big paws. He is thoughtful and endearing, yet also playful and full of kitten energy and curiosity! Often following behind his two brothers, Hickory usually stops for a caress and a purr before racing out to playtime. He is more cautious than his brothers, and likes to watch the action before joining in. He often lets his foster mom know that it's snuggle time by gently tapping her leg or hand with his paw, or simply climbing into her lap. Feather toys, boinks and toy mice are among his favorites, which run a close second to a good wrestling match or game of tag with his mom (Hazel), grandma (Elizabeth) or brothers. Hickory is especially attached to his mom and grandma, often seeking out their company for a cuddle and a bath. He is good with respectful dogs, and should be okay with kids as long as they are gentle and respectful. Hickory was born in an orchard in Springfield. He, his mother Hazel and 2 brothers were brought into foster when the kittens were just about 2 weeks old. Since then he has never been outside and should remain an indoor only kitty. LICORICE is a gorgeous young male kitty with luxurious fluffy black fur nearly 2 years young. He was found under a vacant mobile home during last winter's ice storms. Energetic and playful, he will happily spend hours chasing feather on-a-stick and other wand toys, pausing occasionally to jump into your lap for a good caress. He will need a quiet, slow introduction to any new people or places before his naturally sunny personality emerges. Once he knows you care, he will happily play with you for hours and letting you brush his beautiful fluff. Licorice has tested positive for FIV (the feline immunodeficiency virus) which means he must be an indoor-only kitty for his lifetime. He's a healthy, vigorous boy and with some precautions to protect his immune system, will likely have a normal lifespan. The virus can't be passed to dogs or people and only through a deep bite wound to other cats. They were adopted as older kittens this past spring, but their adopter has unexpectedly moved away and could not take Elwynn & Fenris with him. Everyone involved was heartbroken, but now these sweet brothers are looking for their new forever home. Since they have had each other for comfort for so long, they must be adopted together. We are offering them at a special sponsored adoption fee of $175 for the pair (normally $225 for 2 young cats). Elwynn & Fenris have been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet wellness exam. Meet Elwynn & Fenris in their foster home with an approved adoption application which can be submitted online at CatRescues.org/Cat or a paper copy available at either Eugene PetSmart, Petco (Valley River Rd.) or Wags! Duck
DUCK is a petite medium-haired black and white tuxedo female kitty with dazzling golden eyes, about 5 years old. She is a very affectionate girl who loves her humans, but she wants to be your one and only. Duck loves to snuggle and has a very sweet personality. She lets her foster mom hold her and is patient when she administer her meds. Once you sit down, she will instantly jump into your lap purring, making biscuits. It seems Duck was abandoned by a previous owner and had a tough time before entering foster care. She can be startled by sudden movements and will require a QUIET household with someone gentle and understanding to work with her. She has always been loving to her foster mom, but she wouldn't do well with littles who are still learning how to be around critters. She could take or leave most toys but will really get excited for the laser pointer. Duck was found as a spayed stray and taken in by our cat rescue group for fostering. Duck has tested positive for FIV (the feline immunodeficiency virus) which means that she must be an indoor-only kitty for her lifetime - but with some precautions to protect her immune system, she will likely have a normal lifespan. The virus can't be passed to dogs or to people, and only to other cats through a deep bite wound - thus Duck should be an only cat (which she prefers). Duck is a sweet and special girl who would do well in a quiet home with an experienced cat-savvy parent. Please Note: Duck is a serious lover and when she gets really excited may express her affection with firm 'love bites' - her best home will be with cat-savvy adults only. Duck is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, treated for fleas, dewormed and tested negative for Felv - plus she comes with a free wellness visit. Meet Duck in her foster home with an approved adoption application which can be submitted online at CatRescues.org/Cat or a paper copy available at either Eugene PetSmart, Petco (Valley River Rd.) or Wags! AKIRA and RANGA are a bonded sister-brother pair of gorgeous young kitties just over a year old. Akira is a quiet and sweet-natured gray and white tuxedo girl who enjoys her cheek and face rubs. She lets out a friendly chirp when she sees you. Ranga is a mellow long-haired buff tabby boy with a magnificent lion's mane and a soft, fluffy tail. When resting, he likes being petted gently from his head all the way down to his tail, including his big cute paws and will purr mightily. They were rescued as very shy and scared older kittens and have now become a laid-back pair of bonded kitties. Once acclimated (helped along with freeze-dried chicken treats and giving them space), they will warm up nicely. They love chasing the red dot laser and especially string-like wand toys. They will make wonderful lifelong companions for someone looking for mellow and well-mannered kitties. Akira and Ranga would do best in a quiet home with lots of space and patience for them to blossom. Since Akira and Ranga have had each other for comfort for so long, they must be adopted together, and are being offered at a special sponsored fee of $150 for the pair (normally $225 for 2 young cats). DAVIN is an affectionate solid black young male kitty, with very distinctive black lips, about a year old. He is very friendly and loves people of all ages. Davin loves chasing toys, feathers, balls, dogs and other cats in his foster home! Even though Davin is very playful, he genuinely loves and seeks out human attention. He will come sit with his humans on the couch or bed, purring madly with happy drools for hours. He has an independent nature and likes to do his own thing on his own terms. Davin gets along well with friendly dogs and other cats, as long as they can tolerate his assertiveness, so he needs to be in a home with another young, playful cat. Davin was previously adopted but surrendered when his canine companion tragically passed away and they could not bear the responsibility of adopting another companion for him. This is a loving and well-mannered boy who will make a wonderful addition in any home! Please note that Davin is currently on a prescription urinary tract health diet, but otherwise he's in tip-top shape. Davin has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet wellness exam. BRENDA is a sweet and talkative 6-month-old dilute calico with distinctive eyebrows and a fashionable white bib. She is a conversation starter! By that we mean Brenda wants to have a conversation with you and tell you all about her day. She is playful with her brothers and is the bravest one of her litter. She'll be the first one to explore new nooks and crannies in her home. Brenda and her two brothers were rescued from the streets of Eugene when they were small and in need of help. Brenda has tested FIV positive but she is only 6 months old and should be re-tested when she is a little older. Both of Brenda's brothers tested negative and it's possible that Brenda still has the antibodies for FIV from her mother. Even if she remains FIV positive, it is now known that an FIV positive cat can live a healthy, normal life. FIV cannot be passed to humans or dogs, can only be passed to another cat through a deep bite wound. Brenda has been tested negative for feline leukemia, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet wellness exam. PEPPERMINT is a long-haired female tortoiseshell kitty who is estimated to be around 6 1/2 years old. She has the most darling ear tufts and she seems to know that they make her especially cute! Peppermint was taken in by a kind gentleman who found her outside his home, and after being surrendered to our cat rescue group, she has been thriving in one of our foster's homes. Peppermint loves to play and jump onto high places! She is very social and still has a very kitten-like personality, curious and friendly. Peppermint tested positive for the feline leukemia virus (FeLV) but she is currently a healthy girl (we have thoroughly checked her out, and her bloodwork shows the virus has not entered her bone marrow), so the prognosis is good that she has many years of life left in her. Peppermint would do well in a home with another FeLV+ kitty. She has tested negative for FIV, is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free wellness exam. PRINCESS is an affectionate fluffy, long-haired brown tabby female kitty, about 4 1/2 years old. This charming lady has been living behind a disguise for several months! When she was rescued by a kind man, her disguise was something called an eosinophilic granuloma -- a fancy scientific word for a fat lip! With good medical care, Princess' lip has returned to its previously beautiful state. She has been on a course of prednisolone, under the care of a skilled veterinarian, and her health has steadily improved. In her foster home she has enjoyed playing with her catnip mice and scratching on sturdy scratching posts. She likes to be by the window to gaze outside and nap in the sun. Princess is full of big purrs and loves to be petted & brushed. Princess loves the companionship of humans, but she does not trust nor does she like other cats. She enjoys receiving attention from children who have been taught to respect a beautiful princess like herself. Loud noises frighten her, as do sudden movements. Princess is looking forward to finding her forever royal residence with the right family. BLACK VELVET is a beautiful, fluffy solid black male kitty who is DECLAWED on his front paws, about 15 years old. Once he is comfortable, he is an affectionate and very laid back boy. He loves to be held and petted and enjoys cuddle time. He is very non-dominant, truly enjoys the company of fellow cats and would thrive in a home with at least one other friendly cat. Because he is declawed, he must enjoy the luxuries of an indoor-only life. Velvet requires a thyroid pill twice a day (which is easily administered) and has some minor asthma problems that are kept in check with a cortisone shot about every 3 months. Won't you give this sweet and quiet boy a safe and secure forever home?
