About Cat Rescue & Adoption Network.
Cat Rescue & Adoption Network started as West Coast Dog and Cat Rescue, in 2006, as a program to find homes for cats from Lane County Animal Regulation Authority in Oregon using the PetSmart retail chain stores as an off-site adoption center. In 2007, West Coast Dog and Cat Rescue expanded its mission to help both cats and dogs from all over the community. Organizational shifts realigned our focus solely for the rescue, care and placement of cats since 2010. West Coast Dog and Cat Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Since inception, we have saved over 4000 cats and found them wonderful, loving homes. In August of 2017, after an exhaustive re-branding effort, West Coast Dog and Cat Rescue has become Cat Rescue & Adoption Network. We now have cats in the following locations. Thanks to your donations and the dedication of our valuable volunteers, the future is bright. Volunteer with us at this link.
Key focus points for Cat Rescue & Adoption Network include:
- The necessity to spay and neuter to reduce pet overpopulation
- The importance of adoption
- The humane treatment of animals
- How to deal with feral cats through TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return)
Cat Rescue & Adoption Network works with humane societies, many animal rescue groups, the public and government animal services agencies to find the animals a permanent home through our adoption process. We provide all needed medical care, disease testing and vaccinations to ensure a successful adoption. As a no-kill program, we fully support and practice the philosophy of saving all adoptable and treatable animals.
The volunteer CRAN Board of Directors meets regularly on the second Sunday of each month, 5-7pm in the Kirei room at Café Yumm, 730 East Broadway, Eugene 97401. Time is allotted each month for public comments and all are welcome
