Groot
GROOT is a very handsome little solid gray male kitten who looks like he might have a little Russian Blue in him. This lover boy absolutely loves to cuddle, anywhere and anytime! He will sit in your lap whenever you sit down, and will curl up right next to you at night. Groot is a very playful kitten, who chases toy mice and bats little balls for hours, and loves to romp around with his twin brother Rocket. They were rescued as young kittens, and went to live happily in a foster home with other cats, kids, dogs of all sizes, and even a pet bunny. Groot would do best being adopted together with his brother Rocket or into a home with another playful young animal -- or possibly where someone is home all the time to monitor him and provide him with LOTS of stimulation. This sweet boy would make an especially wonderful addition to a family with other furry members. NOTE: GROOT has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed—plus you get a free vet visit. His adoption fee is $120 ($225 for 2 kittens), which is strictly to help cover our costs. He will be coming to the cattery at Petsmart North, 2847 Chad Drive , Eugene OR 97401 on Sunday, September 24th. Maisey
MAISEY is a gorgeous, friendly young female kitty about a year old who is white with a few calico patches on her back, some pale (dilute) calico coloring on her head, and a beautiful puffy tail. She is an outgoing and extremely playful kitty with ALOT of personality. Maisey loves her toys, and will run around with a toy mouse in her mouth for hours. She can play a bit roughly, so she should not be in a home with toddlers. She enjoys human attention, will follow you around the house, is not afraid at all of strangers, and loves being scratched and petted -- but she is not good with being picked up. Maisey was given up by her owner when she was pregnant, and she went to live in a loving foster home where she cared for her litter in a safe and warm environment (she was such a devoted mother that she even nursed 3 additional orphaned kittens). She does NOT like other cats and would prefer to be in a one-cat household, but she tolerates dogs well. Maisey has been spayed, tested (she is negative) is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, treated for fleas and worms and comes with a free vet visit. Her adoption fee is $100, which helps us help another cat in need. Maisey is currently in foster care. Daniel
DANIEL is a handsome little orange tabby male kitten with white fur in a tuxedo pattern. He and his siblings were found abandoned with their mom cat in a wrecking yard, and they all went to live in a loving foster home. They have adjusted nicely to the comforts of a home and petting. They will still run and hide if there are loud or sudden movements towards them, but once in your arms, they are cuddly and friendly. Daniel is mellow and calm, but also very playful – and he will need to be carefully monitored as he is very curious about the outdoors and often tries to dash through the door. He is fine with gentle children, and has lived with cat-friendly dogs. Like most active young kittens , Daniel would do best in a household with another kitten or playful young animal, or where he gets lots of attention and isn’t left alone during the day. NOTE: DANIEL has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed—plus you get a free vet visit. Satin
SATIN is a beautiful and petite, solid black long-haired girl kitty with a curious nature, about 8 to 10 years old. She loves to explore and poke around into all the nooks and crannies of her surroundings. Leave a drawer or cabinet open, and she’ll immediately inspect it. Satin lived all her life with an elderly couple until they could no longer care for her when they moved into a long-term care facility. She is now looking for a new home where there are loving humans to pet her, interesting cubbies to explore, and windows full of light. She is generally reserved, but soon shows her affectionate and curious nature when she feels safe and comfortable. She likes a good scratching post but would rather cuddle next to you on the sofa while you read a book and stroke her head, than play with toys or run around. She could possibly coexist with one other quiet kitty, but would likely be happiest as an only cat. We do not know yet how she is around dogs. SATIN has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Her adoption fee is $75, which is strictly to help cover our costs. She is currently in foster care. Beauty
BEAUTY is a sweet little gray tabby tuxedo female kitty who has a white face blaze and a darling little beauty mark on her nose – thus her name. She is truly beautiful inside and out. She was part of a large group of indoor-outdoor cats living at a house in Oakridge who were rescued, spayed (with an ear tip) and put into a foster home. She was raised with lots of love, and is outgoing and affect-ionate. After acclimating to her new surroundings, Beauty has a gentle, good-natured personality. She gets along fine with other cats and she lived with a dog in her former home. She will likely do well with gentle, cat-savvy children and dogs. Beauty is a well-mannered little lady who has a tremendous amount of love to give. Beauty has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Lyra is an adorable little solid black female kitten with soft, sleek panther fur. Although she may initially run and hide from new people, she is quickly won over by her interest in play! She is particularly fond of chasing her sister around and around the room, as well as chasing string and feather toys. She seems to enjoy sitting on laps, and really loves to be petted! Lyra and her sister Cosmo were rescued from the Fred Meyer parking lot, where their mom cat was living. She is used to living in a household with dogs, other cats, and kids. Like most active young kittens, she would do best in a home with another playful young animal, or in a household where someone is home a lot to monitor her and provide her with lots of stimulation. PeeChee
PeeChee is a petite and gorgeous gray tabby female young adult kitty about 2 years old. Even though this beautiful little girl's name is PeeChee, she was found in a decidedly un-peachy living situation - right on Main Street in Springfield. She has an absolutely amazing personality. She is super affectionate, loves to be held and cuddled, really likes head bumps and has the softest little purr ever. This little love bug is also a Manx mix, and has the cutest little bink of a tail. Her eyes are ever so round and expressive too, and her nose sometimes drips when she is feeling passionate. PeeChee is very quiet, at least at her foster mom's house. She likes cardboard scratchers a lot, but her most favorite thing on earth so far is wet food – she is pleased as punch when you give her some! She seems to be just fine with other cats, friendly dogs, and gentle kids. PeeChee is a real special little girl who needs a real special (big or little!) family of her own. PeeChee’s adoption fee is $75, which is strictly to help cover our costs. She is currently at Petco at 1169 Valley River Drive, Eugene (open daily 9 to 9). Cosmo
COSMO is a sweet little short-haired black and gray tabby female kitten with beautiful swirls and marbling. She is a lovable cat who enjoys being petted and doted on, but is too shy at first to ask for it. When she is comfortable in her environment, then she is affectionate, playful and curious. While her transition time will certainly be quicker if she is adopted into a quiet home, she did fine in her foster home, where she lived with children, loud noises, other cats, and a Labrador Retriever puppy. Cosmo and her sister Lyra were rescued from the Fred Meyer parking lot, where their mom cat was living. Potential adopters should expect Cosmo to hide initially, but to come out of her shell with consistent attention and play. She will probably bond more strongly with her new humans if she is adopted alone (without another kitten). NOTE: COSMO has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. MACY is a gorgeous little medium-haired brown tabby female kitten with white fur in a tuxedo pattern. Macy was found as a little kitten along with her mom and two litter mates at a work site, and went to live in a loving foster home. She has made great strides in her trust of humans. She is still afraid to be picked up and held, but this is improving with each passing day. (The best time to catch her is when she is napping.) Macy loves to nap quietly, but also loves to play and run. She gets along well with other cats, but is cautious of small quiet dogs. She has never been around young children. Lauren
LAUREN is a cute little short-haired tortoiseshell female kitten. She and her sister Haley were born to a stray mom at a cemetery in Springfield, and went to live in a loving foster home. Lauren is the more reserved sister, but her curiosity always overcomes her reserve. She is a typical tortie....she wants to do things in her own time and her own way. She’s very playful when she’s in the mood, but she likes to observe all the activity around her from a distance. Thus she is a bit more calm and relaxed than most kittens. Her favorite viewing locations are the top of the cat tower or in the window seat. Lauren gets along fine with other cats, but is reserved with dogs and small children. She would be love to be adopted into a home with another playful young kitten or cat, but she would also most likely be OK as the only pet in the household as long as someone is home a lot to monitor her and give her lots of attention. NOTE: LAUREN has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. PENNY is a bright and curious little tabby teenager male kitten with stripes and spots, and some cute white highlights on his face, neck, and feet. This little guy wants to be around you all the time, and will happily join in all your activities. Working on the computer? He'll help keep your lap warm and make sure that your keyboard gets the attention it deserves. Watching TV? Great! He loves sports shows and action movies. Taking a shower? No problem! If that bar of soap gets away from you, Penny will chase it down. He's a cat who thrives on attention and will happily introduce himself to your other feline housemates (he would do best in a home where he has some kitty company). It might take him a bit to feel safe and comfortable in his new surroundings, but once he realizes how much you love him, he'll cheerfully wiggle himself into your heart. Habibi
Meet BIBI (also known as "Habibi"), a big and beautiful black, gold, and white cat with fluffy fur as soft as a bunny's. This three-year-old “tortico” has the coloring of both a tortoiseshell and a calico, and she epitomizes the personality of both. In fact, she won't mind you calling her "Queen Habibi." She allows her human to pet her very soft fur in moderation, and only on her terms. She is impeccable in her litterbox manners. Bibi was relinquished to a local shelter because she sometimes coughs and wheezes due to seasonal allergies or asthma. Her condition is helped by using one of the “natural” litters (pellets, corn, walnut shells etc). To keep her airways open, Bibi currently receives 1/2 tab prednisolone every other day, which she readily accepts via a pill popper. Other than admiring looks and loyal servitude from her humans, nothing means more to Habibi than food. She is a naturally large feline, so she needs her human to keep an eye on her food intake in order for her weight to remain in the healthy range. Bibi will chase and be chased by her playful cat companions in her foster home, but her reserved personality indicates she would also do well as an only cat. She would be happiest in a calm household with patient, gentle adults, and possibly older kids. We do not know yet how she is around dogs. This wonderful girl will bestow you with ankle rubs and gorgeousness. Are you ready to welcome royalty into your home? HABIBI has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Her adoption fee is $75, which is strictly to help cover our costs. She is currently in foster care. Zuri
ZURI is a soft and silky, solid white young adult female kitty about 3 years old. She is very shy around new people and environments, but once she trusts you and is comfortable in her new environment, Zuri will purr and cuddle with you, sleep on the bed with you each night, and will happily come to you when you put your hand out or when you shake her food dish. She adores petting from individuals she trusts, and sometimes she will reach out a gentle paw to bat at your hand when you stop petting her, to say “more please!” Zuri loves to bat small kitty toys across the floor, but since she will sometimes put new things with her mouth, it is important that she not be given anything chewable. Zuri gets along with calm, cat-friendly dogs, and would probably be okay with gentle, cat-savvy kids age 12 or older. After a slow introduction, she got along OK with some of the other cats in her foster home, but not with others – so she might be happiest as an only cat. Zuri would do best in a calm home, where she can warm up to her surroundings at her own pace. A veterinarian called our rescue group when Zuri’s owner brought her in to euthanize her because she had been living/hiding in their closet for the two years they had her. With patience and gentleness, Zuri has slowly learned that her home can feel safe and has become more confident in exploring it instead of hiding in a closet. She is now looking for a forever home that can provide her with the love and patience she needs to continue to blossom. ZURI has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed – plus you get a free vet visit. ECLIPSE is a handsome little black male kitten with faint grey stripes due to his smoky gray undercoat. He and his sister Nebula were found abandoned as kittens, but have adjusted quite nicely to the comforts of a home and petting. He will still run and hide if there are loud or sudden movements or a stranger walks into the room, but it doesn’t take long for his desire to be petted to overcome his fears. Eclipse loves to play with his sister, with his foster family’s teenager kitty, and with the older kids in his foster home. He is cautiously curious and loves his fake mice. He isn’t afraid to let you know he is hungry or needs some love, but his voice is so sweet and soft. Eclipse should do fine with a friendly dog. He would love to be adopted together with Nebula, but he would also do well on his own as the center of attention for someone who is home a lot. DORY is an adorable little 4 ½ month old black and gray tabby female kitten with a white muzzle and bib, and some subtle orange markings that give her an artistic flair. She is like the sweet big sister to her siblings; she seems to be the one who keeps everyone in line and checks to see where everyone is. After getting her fill of playing and running around, she will stretch out languidly on a high perch and watch her more rambunctious littermates. If Dory could talk, she’d probably want to have long, conversations with you about art, and literature, and current events. Like most active young kittens, she would do best in a home with another kitten or playful young animal, or where someone is home a lot to monitor her and give her lots of attention. Lucy
LUCY is a silky soft, adorable little gray and white female tuxedo kitten with four white socks, and a cute little white mustache and gray chin. She is a sweet, calm, gentle girl who loves to be petted. Lucy and her brothers Timmy and Harley were born to a stray mama cat, and have been flourishing in foster care learning how to be house cats. She has perfect litter box manners and will eat both kibble and canned food. Lucy enjoys a good game of chase with her siblings, loves to climb a tall kitty perch, and her favorite game is to challenge one of her kitty friends to a wrestling match. Like most active young kittens, she would do best in a household with another kitten or playful young animal, or with a family who can monitor her activity and give her lots of attention. NOTE: LUCY has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed—plus you get a free vet visit. Rowdie
ROWDIE is a friendly, talkative young adult brown and grey tabby male kitty with beautiful charcoal stripes. This extra large guy loves to chat with his human friends -- listening to how your day went and telling you all about his day too. Sweet and loving, this three-and-a-half year old boy loves to cuddle, sit on laps and relishes a good petting session. Rowdie was surrendered to us through a local veterinarian when his original family requested he be euthanized due to inappropriate urination. Routine tests showed that Rowdie suffered a urinary tract infection (UTI) and had developed crystals, which could easily be treated with medication and a prescription diet. Now cleared of his UTI, Rowdie uses his litter box without fail and eagerly eats his prescription diet. We recommend a quiet living space for this gentle and sweet young boy as an only pet, as we believe a dog, young child and stress may have contributed to his crystals and UTI. Rowdie would probably be fine with calm, older children. ROWDIE has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. His adoption fee is $75, which is strictly to help cover our costs. He is currently in foster care. Ninja
NINJA is a lively 4 ½ month old girl kitten who is white with a black and gray tabby face, cape, and tail. She lives up to her name, as her favorite game is to hide inside of a large paper bag and then leap out at any unsuspecting kitten or human who wanders by. She loves to run and jump even more than she loves to eat, and she will usually grab a few bites, run around a bit, and then come back again for a few more bites. She also likes to follow you around and peek over your shoulder, purring all the while -- just to see if you’re doing anything interesting. One of her favorite ways to wind down is to watch television (tennis and soccer are her favorites). Like most energetic young kittens, it is very important that she be in a home with another kitten or playful young animal, or where someone is home a lot to monitor her and give her lots of attention. NOTE: NINJA has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Nebula
NEBULA is a beautiful and slightly fluffy little black female kitten with a gray undercoat that creates a dramatic smoky ruff at her neck that looks like a Nebula -- which is how she got her name. She and her brother Eclipse were found abandoned as kittens, but have adjusted nicely to the comforts of a home and petting. She will still run and hide if there are loud or sudden movements or if a stranger walks into the room, but after a few minutes and with cues from her brother, her desire to be petted overcomes her fears. Nebula is very curious about things out of her reach, and will be persistent in trying to get to them. She loves her fake mice, but would much rather have you dangle a string in front of her or simply pet her thick coat. She has gotten along well with the other cats and older kids in her foster home, and should do fine with a calm and friendly dog. She would love to be adopted with Eclipse, but she should also be OK on her own, bonding strongly to her new humans after a slow and patient introduction to her new surroundings. NEBULA’s adoption fee is $120 ($225 for 2 kittens), which is strictly to help cover our costs. She has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed-plus you get a free vet visit. Atlas
ATLAS is an extra large, handsome young ginger tabby male kitty about a year old. He and his siblings were found abandoned as babies and went to live in a foster home, but Atlas was held back for adoption after he experienced several seizures that seemed to be precipitated by stress (including going to the vet). He has been in his current foster home for six months, and there have been absolutely no signs of seizures , so it is quite possible that he has outgrown this problem . Atlas is a bit shy with strangers and in new situations, but once he has acclimated , he is very affectionate, loves pets, and purrs readily. After he knows you and trust is established , he'll be putty in your hands. He is good with being picked up, and likes being cuddled in your arms. He is active and playful, and really adores tumbling around with the young cat in his foster home (see video); their play is adorably sweet and gentle, and his foster dad calls Atlas the “Karate Kitty." Atlas is also good with the dog that lives there, and would do best in a quiet household (no toddlers ) with at least one other playful young animal for him to buddy up with. As a special needs kitty, Atlas’ adoption fee is only $60 – although a donation to our medical fund is always greatly appreciated. He has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed--plus you get a free vet visit. BOOTS is a gorgeous long-haired tuxedo cat who is about 10 years old with the most adorable white mustache and spot on his nose. He is DECLAWED on his front paws, thus he must be an indoor-only cat (which he has been his whole life). He is a gentle and well-behaved guy who is very quiet and has a soft purr. His lifelong owner transitioned to a nursing home and Boots was left behind. His sadness at the sudden loss of all he knew took him several weeks to acclimate to his new foster home. He can be quite playful at times and wants you to be involved too. Boots likes to follow you around and be right next to you to supervise but doesn’t care to be touched too much. He can become very anxious when being picked up. Learning to respect his boundaries with patience and kindness will reward you with his trust and love. He’s good at communicating and will sleep by your feet. Boots needs to be an only cat and in a home without young kids. He will make a wonderful kitty for a quiet person or couple looking for a delightful and loving companion. Meadow and River are very sweet, shy kiddos that need someone patient enough to wait for their wonderful personalities to come out and shine! Meadow is a beautiful solid black girl and the friendliest one, and likes being picked up and snuggled. She'll sit around with her tongue peeking out of her mouth, looking adorable. River, an adorable gray tabby, needs a little more time before she'll come out to be social, but she follows her sister's lead. It'll take a month or two before River will start coming up to you for attention, and some time after that before she'll let you pick her up. Once she trusts you, she'll be devoted to you and follow you around and meow for attention 🙂 They're not used to loud noises so they may run and hide the first few times they hear something new. They have a little experience with a cat savvy dog and they did well once they got used to her, so with time, they could get along with a canine sibling. They can both be bribed with treats once they've settled into their new environment. They're energetic, both love to chase da bird toy and any string will get their attention! River likes to chase toys when you throw them and Meadow will run along just because her sister is running. If you have treats, they'll both gently bat at your fingers until you give them some. Because River is very bonded to her sister, Meadow, we are offering them at a special adoption fee of $100 for the pair, sponsored by Main Street Mini Storage. These adorable girls are shy with new people and situations. The important thing will be to create a feeling of safety by letting them settle in one room of your home with everything they need: food, water, toys and a litter box (and you!). Interact with them as much as you can in their 'safe room' until they recognize you as the trusted hooman. Meadow will need toys and lots of time with you, but most of all she will need your patience and love to blossom to her full potential. Both Meadow and River have tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV, have been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed—plus you get a free vet visit. Cuddles
CUDDLES is a beautiful and sweet short-haired black and gray tabby female kitty about 12 years old. She was surrendered by her people when they moved out of state and couldn’t take her with them. It took her some time to adjust to her foster home -- she was very scared at first -- but with a little patience and TLC, she has proved to be a friendly girl who enjoys gentle petting and especially chin scratches. She’ll be happiest in a quiet home with lots of low spots for her to hang out and nap in. Cuddles has been thoroughly checked out by a vet and, other than some minor arthritis in her hips, she is in excellent health. Once she has bonded to you, she loves to lay on your chest, legs or back, especially in bed at night, but not necessarily on your lap. She may give you an appreciative lick during petting or knead you with soft paws. She enjoys DaBird wire toy for play when she’s not asking for ear rubs. She prefers you don’t touch her feet too much, but once she trusts you, she is good with being brushed. Cuddles is currently in foster care and would love to meet you for a proper introduction. Cuddles' adoption fee is $60, to help other abandoned and neglected kitties. She has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. TANA'I is a beautiful and sweet black and white tuxedo female adult kitty. One veterinarian estimated her age at 3 years old and another at 6 years old but we believe her to be closer to 3. She was found homeless and pregnant and subsequently had her babies after she was rescued. Her kittens grew up and were adopted and Tana'i has been living in a loving foster home learning to trust humans. She loves head pets and chin scritches but is not a "needy" girl -- she would be the perfect kitty companion for someone who works a lot so she can save up her affections. Her favorite toys are a laser light and her stuffed ostrich and she goes completely silly for catnip. She would prefer a quiet home without noisy kids. She does well with other kitties after a proper introduction and might be OK with a respectful dog. She has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed – plus you get a free vet visit. Tana'i is currently in foster care. He is good with being held and sitting in laps, and is very bonded to humans. Tooey was adopted from our rescue group as a kitten but when his owner moved in with a relative who was very allergic to cats, he and his sister "Wunnie," were returned. His sister has since been adopted but Tooey is still on the search. He needs a home where he can feel safe and adored and where his new owner understands that young kitties can have "wild and crazy guy" time too! Tooey will occasionally scratch when overstimulated and needs a patient and cat-savvy adopter (no young kids). [PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE ARE ALL PICTURES OF CATS THAT ARE ALREADY IN FOSTER CARE] West Coast fosters give their kitties lots of TLC and attention. Because of that, we have very well socialized cats that are readily adopted. BUT, we have reached capacity with our fosters. We need more fosters to help fulfill our mission of helping rescue special needs animals. Fosters are provided with all the food, bedding and litter the cat needs. We also pay all their medical expenses. Your part is to give them love and attention and how hard can that be? This is the perfect opportunity to have a pet without a life time commitment. Fostering lasts anywhere from one week to several months and YOU get to choose whether you foster bottle babies, kittens or adult cats AND how many. If you live in the Eugene/Springfield, Oregon area and have love to spare for these kitties, please call 541-225-4955. 9/21/17 11:59 PM

NORA is a sweet young adult female kitty with beautiful, glossy black fur. She is about 3 years old. She was rescued as a teenager and went to live in a loving foster home. She was very shy at first, but she has learned that humans have gentle hands, bring food and toys, and give her gentle pets. She enjoys playtime with feather-on-a-stick and fuzzy toys that she can bat at and "capture". Nora was adopted a few months ago, and just came back to because her adopter had to suddenly move out of her living situation. This poor kitty is ready for a stable forever home! She will need a quiet household and an adopter who is patient and gentle -- but once she gets to know her new people, they will be rewarded with a sweet and loving lap cuddler who is full of purrs! Nora is curious about new places, but she likes to start out with a safe spot where she can observe her world, then work her way into her new surroundings. She was born in a feral colony (and spayed with an ear tip), and then was taken into a loving foster home where she slowly learned to trust people. She is active and playful, but may hide when someone walks into the room or moves too quickly towards her. Once you've earned her trust she will purr for hours and enjoys all the chin rubs you can give her. She was adopted into a household with one other young kitty (Tasha), but Tammy is a very dominant kitty with other cats, and Tasha was a bit afraid of her. Tammy and Tasha’s adoptive mom recently died, and they are now living in a foster home where they have been separated. ARIANA is a beautiful young female kitty with sleek black fur and a cute white spot on her chest. This 3-year-old sweetheart is seeking affection and love. She is a cat who hates to be confined, and she is quite vocal (we call her "squeakers" because she talks so much). She is a little nervous about strange sounds or unfamiliar surroundings, and will sometimes hiss or growl -- but she is never aggressive (although she should not be in a home with young kids). She loves to play with string and balls, and she really enjoys sitting and looking out windows. Ariana was adopted from WCDC as a kitten, but was returned to us when her owner became financially unstable and was unable to care for her (or give her the attention that she so strongly desires). It took Ariana awhile to learn to trust her new family, but now she is very affectionate with her foster mom's teenagers, and sleeps with them every night. She will need a patient and cat-savvy adopter who will give her time to adjust -- but this young girl really wants to be a part of a family in a stable forever home! TIPPY is a gorgeous and fluffy one-year-old brown tabby female kitty who looks like she might have some Maine Coon in her. Like many cats, she wants to be in charge of her world, and prefers to decide for herself who her friends are and when she will accept being caressed. But once she's decided you are trustworthy and well-intentioned, she will purr, trill, and eagerly lean into your hand for pets. Tippy was living in a rough neighborhood, and was taken in by a kind-hearted resident who eventually surrendered her to a local vet when she became homeless. Because Tippy had to survive by her sharp wits and quick paws, she still has some issues with scratching and nipping. Since coming to our rescue group May 5 she has been bounced around to a number of different foster homes due to her unpredictable behavior. It will take a patient owner who is willing to be gentle and slow in gaining her trust and allowing her plenty of time to settle in and finally acclimate to her new surroundings. Once that happens, Tippy will make a sweet and devoted lifetime companion. She needs to be the ONLY cat, and should not be in a home with young children. Gaia
GAIA is a beautiful and inquisitive one-year-old dilute calico female kitty who would love to be the goddess of your household. She is very active and playful, and especially loves to climb and be up high -- so she would do best in a home with a cat tree and other high places to perch. She has a strong preference for other cats that are respectful of her space, and can be a little grouchy with an “in-your-face” approach, preferring to take her time making friends. The same goes for her interactions with humans. That said, once she decides you are trustworthy, she loves to be petted and brushed and enjoys playing with her friends…both feline and human. Gaia and her siblings were abandoned by their mom cat, and were raised as bottle babies. She had to stay in foster care for quite awhile, getting over a harmless skin condition. She will do best in a quiet home, and a slow, gentle introduction by her new family will pave the way for this sweet young girl to make her way into their hearts. GAIA’s adoption fee is $100, which is strictly to help cover our costs. She has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed-plus you get a free vet visit. She is currently at our adoption center at Petsmart in South Eugene: 2858 Willamette Street, Eugene OR 97405. Ray
RAY is an elegant adult male black and white tuxedo kitty with long fluffy fur, estimated to be between 4 and 7 years old. This magnificent fellow seeks a soft place from which to lounge, survey his territory and approve of your every action. He was abandoned by his family when they decided they were just too busy to take care of him. Ray has luminous green eyes and a very fluffy long tail which he wafts back and forth. He enjoys being brushed, will sit in your lap, and is OK with being held or carried for a short time. He is calm and easygoing, loves to talk, enjoys playing, and will make a wonderful companion for a family of adults or gentle, older children. After a thorough veterinary review, it is recommended that he be on a urinary-tract health diet, although it does not need to be a prescription diet (mainly just a high quality canned food). He would be happiest as an only cat, although he is OK with other cats if they leave him alone (he is timid). Ray's adoption fee is $75, which is strictly to help cover our costs. He has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed--plus you get a free vet visit. He is currently in foster care, and can easily be visited. For more information please call 541-225-4955 option 1 or send an email to adoptinfo@CatRescues.org. 9/21/17 11:59 PM

Orphan Annie
ORPHAN ANNIE is a sweet but independent girl who is discriminating about whom she chooses as her friends. If she chooses you, you will be rewarded with LOTS of head bumps and affection! Annie would love a home where she can be her own girl but get love and treats when she is comfortable. She would do best as the only cat and would prefer a quiet home without children. Annie’s owner adopted a younger cat and Annie didn’t get along with her. She was brought to a vet to be euthanized because she growled and hissed at the new cat and our rescue group placed her into a foster home where she has blossomed into such a happy and friendly kitty. Annie is 12 years old and in good health; she would love someone's lap to warm for her golden years. She has been spayed, is up to date on vaccinations, has tested negative for FELV/FIV, is microchipped and comes with a free vet visit. Annie's adoption fee is just $60. Annie is in foster care where she would be pleased to make your introduction. For more information call 541-225-4955 option 1 or send an email to adoptinfo@CatRescues.org. Hobi
HOBI is a wonderfully sweet and friendly silver tabby male kitty who is estimated to be about 12 years old. He's a charming guy who is curious and outgoing, and who doesn’t act at all like a senior kitty. Don't be surprised if you see him hop up onto a cat tree or other high place, like a cat with much less life experience! He's spry and talkative and still likes to chase a string around the floor. Hobi was adopted as a kitten and lived his whole life with just one family -- until both his people suffered failing health and could no longer care for this boy. He's looking for a warm and loving forever home where his people will listen to his stories and cuddle up with him on the sofa. Hobi is great with gentle kids, and he is so laid back that he should be fine with other mellow cats. He has been neutered, tested negative for FELV/FIV, is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, has been treated for fleas and worms and comes with a free vet visit. His adoption fee is $60 (adoption fees help us help another cat). He is currently in foster care. DeeCee
Hi, I'm DeeCee! Are you looking for an affectionate companion? I might be your girl. I will sit on your lap, and entertain you by allowing you to shine a laser pointer for me to chase. I used to be shy, but now I'm just a little cautious in new situations. I would love to find a family that would lavish attention on me, me me! I'm a beautiful black and white tuxedo kitty and I am just a year and a half old. I was carrying a little extra weight around my middle, but with some careful calorie counting, and a little extra playtime, I have managed to shed most of the excess weight. There is still a little more of me to love, or to warm your lap, but don't let that fool you -- I like to romp and play, and explore. DeeCee was surrendered by her adopters because their other cat was bullying her, and keeping her cornered and stressed. Because of that, DeeCee peed outside of her litterbox. Since being in foster care, she has been treated for a urinary tract infection, and is recovering and using her box regularly. She will need to stay on a urinary tract health food for her lifetime, and she would probably do best as an only cat. DeeCee has been spayed, tested negative for FELV/FIV, is up to date on vaccines, is microchipped, has been treated for fleas and worms and comes with a free vet visit. DeeCee's adoption fee is $75 (adoption fees help us cover medical expenses). DeeCee is currently in foster. Layla
LAYLA is a puffy princess -- a long-haired tortie kitty with a white chest and paws, about 4 years old. She will be very shy starting out, and should have a nice cozy place to hide until she has become accustomed to her new surroundings and humans. Eventually Layla loves to be very much a part of her human’s activities. She loves being petted, and in her foster home, she would run to a favorite roost and meow for her foster dad to pet her. She enjoys toys that are interactive, like Da Bird and laser pointer, and she also has a pile of small stuffed toys that she pulls out and plays with. She is not fond of being held, but she is OK being carried and also brushed. She would do best as an only kitty, but she will tolerate another cat that leaves her alone and give her some space. Layla was adopted as a teenager, and came back to us as a scared, shy kitty when her owner could no longer care for her. With patience and TLC she will blossom into an affectionate girl who will bond strongly to her adopter, just as she did with her foster dad over the past few months. Layla’s adoption fee is $75 which is strictly to help cover our costs. She is currently in foster care. Miss Squeaky P
MISS SQUEAKY P (named because of her adorable squeak) is a gorgeous medium-haired tortoiseshell kitty with a cute white chin. She is about 6 to 7 years old. When she was rescued and came to her foster home, she was malnourished and suffering from flea dermatitis. After receiving veterinary care and several months of TLC, everything has turned around for her. She has blossomed into a very lovely and sweet girl, and while her skin may always need a little attention (we occasionally give her a few days of oral steroids), she now has a beautiful coat instead of the patchy and scabby skin she came in with! She is an adorable and affectionate companion, and is also very playful. Miss Squeaky P has lots of love to give and is very pleasant to hang out with, never needing too much attention, but she happily accepts it when given. She likes being brushed, adores catnip, her Neko Fly and the red laser light, and will also curl up on your lap and sleep with you at night. She gets along with other easy-going cats after a period of introduction, and she might do okay with a friendly dog -- but she would dearly love to be the only pet. She has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed - plus you get a free vet visit. Miss Squeaky P's adoption fee is $75. She is currently living in a loving foster home where she can be easily visited.
