Vienna
VIENNA is a beautiful young female Siamese mix kitty with dilute tortoiseshell markings, estimated to be about 2 years old. She is timid and shy, and will sneak out for affection from her humans when the house is quiet or when she hears the cat food can open. She was rescued as a semi friendly abandoned Mamma Kitty and was taken into a loving foster home to raise her kittens and be socialized. Vienna is slowly becoming more comfortable with being held, and will purr and roll on her back to have her tummy rubbed. She can be very playful, running around chasing cat toys and feather wands when there is not other activity in the home. She is gentle and nonassertive with other cats and kittens, is sometimes very talkative with them. She is scared of young kids, dogs and loud noises. Vienna would do best in a quiet, patient home, possibly with other gentle nonassertive cats, where she can feel secure with her surroundings and emerge as the sweet affectionate kitty that she truly is. She has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet exam. Vienna is currently in foster care. For adoption consideration, complete an application at www.CatRescues.org/forms or paper copy available at either Eugene PetSmart store. Once we have your application, a volunteer will call to determine best fit and arrange a possible meet/greet. The $100 adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. Gary
GARY is a gregarious young orange tabby teenager kitty with white fur in a tuxedo pattern about 11 months old. All he wants is a human “buddy” that he can totally bond with and give a lifetime of devotion to. He likes to follow you around and participate in whatever you are doing. He loves to give hugs and he is extremely affectionate. Gary is a silly, talkative, high energy boy who loves to play, play, play! He will do well with another cat with a similar personality, but he can be a bully with cats who are shy or timid. Gary was found abandoned as a stray in Oakridge, and may have had some traumatic experiences in his past. He can be a bit rowdy at times, and may not be appropriate for young kids. This kitty has a HUGE vivacious personality and a tremendous amount of love to give to the lucky person or family who adopts him. Gary has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet exam. Meet kitty at the cattery inside our partner Wags! Clover
CLOVER is a cuddly little silver tabby male kitten about 3 ½ months old. He loves to play with his siblings and the other cats in his foster home. The cat tree and laser pointer are his favorite entertainments. Clover was born to someone’s unfixed momma cat, and after he was weaned, went to live in a loving CRAN foster home. He is used to an active environment and loves being around kids. He likes to sleep curled up next to the foster family’s adult cat, and he gets along great with the dogs in the household (he snuggles with the Dachshund). As with most kittens, it is critical that Clover be in an active home with the companionship of another energetic kitten or young cat (or a friendly young dog) to romp around with and cuddle up with. He is a very sweet boy! Clover has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet exam. Kitty is temporarily in foster care to be monitored after being exposed to a harmless fungal infection. TWIG is a very handsome brown tabby male kitten with dramatic mackerel stripes and 4 white feet. He is about 3 ½ months old, and is a pleasure to be around because of his fun, loving personality. His favorite toys are the laser pointer, kitty tunnel and little balls that he can chase. Twig was born to someone’s unfixed momma cat, and after he was weaned, went to live in a loving CRAN foster home. He loves to play with everyone in the household, which includes kids, other cats and dogs (big and small). He likes to sleep curled up with his kitty friends or with a human. Blinky
BLINKY is a lovable little short-haired solid black female kitten with slightly fluffy fur, about 10 wks old. She was born to a friendly stray momma cat, and the mom and her litter were placed in a loving CRAN foster home shortly thereafter -- where they have been raised with lots of love and handling. Blinky is an energetic cat who enjoys cat toys, laser lights, and chasing pom poms across the floor. While she is very friendly and adores human attention and petting, she can be shy at first. Once the shy phase passes however, she will follow familiar faces around the house, sleep on their bed at night, etc. Prospective owners can expect a “warm up” period of a few days with Blinky before she is completely comfortable with being handled by new people. Once adjusted, she is good with a busy household and with kids, and will purr for everyone equally. Blinky should be in an active home with the companionship of another energetic young cat, kitten, or friendly dog to play with and cuddle with. Blinky has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet exam. PINKY is a sweet and gregarious little medium-haired, solid black female kitten about 10 weeks old. She was born to a friendly stray momma cat, and the mom and her litter were placed in a loving CRAN foster home shortly thereafter -- where they have been raised with lots of love and handling. Pinky is extremely active, playful and curious, and once her engine gets revved up, she will dart around the house at full speed! She loves all cat toys, particularly if there is a human on the other end to make the “hunt” more challenging! She enjoys sitting on laps, and is not shy around people at all. She is undeterred by dogs, kids, loud noises, or anything else that a household can throw at her! It is absolutely mandatory that Pinky be in an active home with the companionship of another energetic kitten (such as her sister Blinky), young cat, or friendly young dog to frolic around with and snuggle with. Kitters
Kitters is a gorgeous, fluffy long-haired calico female kitty who is estimated to be between 10 and 13 years old. She was left behind when a family moved out, and was fed by kindly neighbors until she was placed into a CRAN foster home. She is good with being left alone and entertaining herself, but she also loves it when her humans come home and she gets to cuddle with them! Kitters really enjoys catnip, her scratching post, and sitting on her cat tree and looking out the window. She gets along well with other friendly cats and dogs. We recently performed a complete dental on her (with extractions), and she is in excellent health except for some very minor early kidney disease which is being treated with a prescription diet (she is not a picky eater and eats everything with gusto). Darling Kitters would really love a quiet home that she can explore, and where she will get lots of toys and love! Kitters has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet exam. Kitty is currently in foster care. SHADOW CAT is a very sweet and fluffy black male kitty who just turned 15 years old. This guy is such a sweet cuddly companion – he just wants to lay on your lap and nap all day long. He was adopted as a kitten, and has been well loved for his entire life until his owner lost her home. Shadow will do best in a calm environment, and he loves warm blankets and head scratches. He is currently in a home with other cats and dogs, and he gets along well with everyone. He is in excellent health, but he does suffer from arthritis; his stiffness is alleviated by a small dose of daily pain meds. Shadow will make a wonderful, cuddly companion for a caring adopter who will provide him with a loving home to live out his final years. Shadow Cat has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet exam. Kitty is currently in foster care. KARINA is a darling, petite little 10-month-old female teenager kitten who is black with a small white dot on her chest. She is sleek and beautiful, and was raised with much love. She was born to an unfixed mama kitty that belonged to a family who was heartbroken to have to give up their beloved kitties when their landlord demanded it. Karina is shy at first in new surroundings, but her very affectionate nature soon blossoms once she feels safe. Karina gets along fine with other cats, but has a timid personality, so she would not do well with more aggressive feline companions. She was raised with older kids and teenagers, whom she adored. She will most likely be OK with gentle, cat-savvy dogs. This is one very special young lady cat who is looking to be someone’s lifelong companion! Blue
BLUE is an extra-large, fluffy 5-year-old orange and white male tabby tuxedo who is now sporting a summer “lion cut” to help him stay cool. He was found as a stray, and it turns out his rescuer’s dad is severely allergic to cats. Blue is a little standoffish at first, but responds well to calm attention and affection (he doesn’t like loud noises or fast actions). He likes his chest scratched and he’s a bit of a talker -- but not in excess. At 14 pounds he could stand to lose a little weight. He is an indoor-outdoor cat who likes to bask in the sun on warm summer days – so he will need an adopter with a VERY SAFE outdoor environment. He spends the colder months lounging around indoors. He uses both an indoor litterbox and the great outdoors. Blue doesn’t hunt birds or squirrels but he’s been known to catch mice. He is tolerant of and curious about other cats, but he doesn’t go out of his way to be friendly. During bad weather and at night he likes a spot of his own, usually a chair where he can be near you and feel safe while you do your work. Like most adult cats, he’s not much of a lap cat, but will sit (or lie) either at your feet or on the sofa by you. He likes both wet food and kibble, makes “piggy” noises when he eats, and snores when he sleeps. When his fur grows out, he needs to be brushed frequently to prevent mats. Blue is an independent guy who likes to know you’re around and will respond warmly to affection. Blue has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet exam. Kitty is currently in foster care. Nickel
NICKEL is a handsome solid gray 8-year-old male kitty who looks like he might have a little Russian Blue in him. This guy is such a goofy sweetheart of a cat! He was rescued when he was abandoned by his owners who could no longer provide a home or financial care. Luckily, CRAN was contacted, and we picked Nickel up from the parking lot where he was abandoned. He loves nothing more than to purr for you, and will drool happily when you give him pets and whisper sweet nothings in his ear. He loves to explore his surround-ings, and then settle into a nice sunny spot. Nickel is frightened by high-energy cats and small children with high-pitched voices, but he should be OK with an easy-going cat companion, or older children. His irises are slightly different in color, but all his blood work is normal, and he’s a healthy guy. The vet did recommend a diet of mostly canned food, supplemented by a small amount of kibble. Nickel is ready now for loving and stable forever home! Nickel has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet exam. ANNIE MAE is a darling young orange and white tabby tuxedo girl who is a very high energy, playful and affectionate kitty. She is shy at first in new surroundings, but she quickly warms up once she feels safe, and is such a little red-headed firecracker who wants to be the star of YOUR show! She talks to her people, and she has so much to say. Annie tends to get jealous when her human is paying attention to another cat – she wants all the attention! – although this may change once she gets settled into her new home and is getting a lot of love from her human(s). She will likely do well with gentle, cat-savvy dogs. She is very tactile and loves to bat at things, including people, all in the spirit of play. Because of this, she may not be a good fit for households with very young kids, but she will likely do well with older children and adults. She had a sore on her little nose which has healed up, and the hair is growing back nicely. Annie Mae has a tremendous amount of love to give to some lucky person or family. age is estimateSOPHIE SOPH is a quiet yet playful, short-haired 3-year-old beautiful black female kitty. She loves jumping wildly through the air while playing with her wand toys. She likes being gently petted and snuggling on the bed, but she has boundaries and wants to be in control of the amount of her interactions. It takes her awhile to acclimate to a new situation, but when she does, she will give head-butts, enjoys being kissed on her forehead, and loves gentle chin and ear rubs. When she is content, she likes to lie upside down on the floor with her tummy in the air. She isn't very needy, and is so quiet you have to keep an eye out for her sometimes. However, once she is bonded to you, she doesn't like being separated from her people, and will scratch at a closed door. She isn't a big fan of other cats, and would prefer to be the only cat in the household. She can be a bit unpredictable until she has settled in, and may occasionally give you a whack with her paws, so she would not be good in a home with young kids or a fragile senior. Sophie was a neighborhood stray being cared for by a friendly neighbor, until she was rescued and put into a loving CRAN foster home. This affectionate and friendly girl needs a safe and secure forever home with a patient owner who will allow her the time that she needs to settle in. Samantha went to live in a loving foster home, and when her foster mom took her to the vet, she was expecting that she was too far gone to be saved. To her delight, Samantha had an easily treatable thyroid imbalance, and within a month had completely regained her health and is now a beautiful, loving and affectionate cat. All she needs to stay healthy is a small, inexpensive half-pill twice daily for the rest of her life (the cost is under $10 per month). Samantha loves to be picked up and stroked, to sit on laps, and to happily cuddle with her human. She has a calm and gentle demeanor, and will thrive in a quiet, stable household. Kooga
KOOGA is a gentle and loving male orange tabby kitty about 14 years old, who just loves company! If you’re looking for a calm, easy-going companion to share life with, then Kooga is your man. He can be shy at first, but warms up to guests and is calm around children (he doesn’t have much energy to play with kids, but he is extremely gentle and patient with them). He is a perfect gentleman around the home -- easy to care for, soft on furniture, and simply wants to have friends to spend time with. Kooga was brought in to a local vet to be euthanized because his family was leaving on a long trip, and the vet brought him to CRAN because he was a healthy boy. We performed a complete dental on him where many of his remaining teeth were removed (thus avoiding future problems). A thorough blood workup showed Kooga to be healthy except for some very early signs of kidney disease, so he is now on a nonprescription kidney support diet. This sweet guy just loves to explore, watch movies, listen to classical music, and dreams of being a lap-cat for an adopter who is willing to accept him as their own – so that he can happily live out his golden years. KOOGA has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. She wants what she wants, and she will let you know what she wants in no uncertain terms – thus an experienced cat fancier that appreciates an independent, strong-minded feline is the right match for Miss Purrlie. Her smile-inducing acrobatics while playing with a string toy, her love of being stroked and petted, and her charming conversations (see picture) will be your reward. Since she expects to be the primary focus of your affection, other cats or small children in the home would not be desirable. But a cat perch by a sunny window and your vow to love her will win this kitty’s heart. Purrlie was declawed by her former owners (which could be why she’s so picky now about who she trusts!), so her new family will need to know that she sometimes feels very vulnerable and a quiet, gentle touch will help her from feeling defensive. Purrlie has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Her adoption fee is $60, which allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for other abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. She is currently in foster where she can be met by appointment. For consideration, submit an adoption application at www.CatRescues.org/forms, or paper application at the Petsmart catteries. BELLA is a gorgeous little dilute tortie female youngster about a year and half old, with thick, plush fur and the prettiest green eyes you can imagine. She is on the shy side, but with love and patience, she warms up slowly to her human companion. Her favorite thing to do is to sit in the window and gaze out at the birds. She would probably do well with another shy, quiet cat. Bella was part of a colony of neighborhood cats in Eugene, and was taken into a loving foster home where she gave birth to a litter of kittens (all adopted now). Bella subsequently went to the vet where she received “the works” and was given an excellent bill of health. Now this sweet, beautiful girl is awaiting your visit, and hopefully you will make her yours furrever! Bella does very well with other cats in her space, but should not be in a home with children or dogs - she thrives in a peaceful setting! Bella has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Bella is currently in foster care. Valentino
age is guesstamitMy name is VALENTINO, and I’m a solid black adult male kitty about 12 years old, who was rescued on Valentine’s day in 2017. I was cold, hungry, and very frightened -- and was brought inside half frozen by the kind staff at a local veterinary clinic. The staff warmed my cold body, provided medical care for my aches and pains, and fed me until I wasn't hungry. I am completely recovered, my teeth have been cleaned, and all of my blood work is normal. I now live in a foster home, where I like to watch the world from a safe spot -- I especially like to sit in a quiet cubby and meow at my human caretakers. I am somewhat reserved, and I definitely like to have my own space, but I do appreciate gentle attention from my humans, head scritches, ear massages, and quiet conversation. Do you have a warm place in your heart and your home, to give me a forever home, so that I won't have to be cold, hungry and frightened ever again? VALENTINO has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. He is currently in foster care, and his adoption fee is $60. Fleur
FLEUR is a pretty and petite little short-haired brown tabby girl kitty with dramatic spots and stripes. She’s a sweet and gentle senior lady estimated to be about 13 years old, who wants nothing more than to snuggle and love you. She was found wandering the streets as a friendly, unfixed stray. Fleur eats well, always uses her litterbox, and enjoys a little play time (catnip toys are a favorite of hers) -- but most often you will find Fleur following you around, or snoozing cuddled up next to you. As an older cat, she might be happiest as the only pet, especially since she has such a strong desire for human attention. Fleur needs a calm, attentive and loving household where she can happily live out her remaining years. When left alone for long periods, she'll cry for more love, so it's best that her new family be around most of the time to keep her company. PLEASE NOTE that Fleur is partially deaf, but she is not skittish in the least. She is now in the very early stages of kidney disease, and should stay on a prescription kidney diet. Fleur has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. DORIAN is a sleek young black panther teenager kitten with one tiny spot of white on his chest. He started out the first couple of months of his life in a field with no human contact. Because of this, he was quite wary of humans when he first came to his foster home, where he has been learning to trust his human companions. Dorian is a sweet, sweet boy who wants to be loved so badly. He just gets a little nervous about it sometimes! He gets along well with all of the kitties that he meets, but would do best in a quiet, cat-experienced home without any young children or dogs. He would be a great addition to a home that patiently allows him time to settle in, and gives him the head and butt scratches that he loves! Once he bonds to his new owner, he will be a devoted companion for life. DORIAN has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. He is currently in foster care. NORA is a sweet young adult female kitty with beautiful, glossy black fur. She is about 3 years old. She was rescued as a teenager and went to live in a loving foster home. She was very shy at first, but she has learned that humans have gentle hands, bring food and toys, and give her gentle pets. She enjoys playtime with feather-on-a-stick and fuzzy toys that she can bat at and "capture." Nora was adopted a few months ago, and just came back to us because her adopter had to suddenly move out of her living situation. This poor kitty is ready for a stable forever home! She will need a quiet household and an adopter who is patient and gentle -- but once she gets to know her new people, they will be rewarded with a sweet and loving lap cuddler who is full of purrs! Nora is curious about new places, but she likes to start out with a safe spot where she can observe her world, then work her way into her new surroundings. Nora might do best as the only cat, although she does seem to do OK with other mellow kitties who don't push her around. She has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Nora's adoption fee is $75. GRETEL is an affectionate 7 ½ year old female tabby cat who loves to sit on everyone’s lap. This big girl boasts large green eyes and beautifully patterned dark brown and gray fur. She has many wonderful qualities including being comfortable with visitors, assisting her loved ones at the computer, understanding house rules on claws, singing opera (she does like to use her voice!), and practicing napping skills on her foster parents' bed. Gretel was surrendered to a local vet for euthanasia because of her digestive issues, and was instead brought to a loving CRAN foster home to be cared for. She has an excellent appetite and is on a special diet for sensitive stomachs, which is doing the trick – along with an inexpensive steroid to aid in digestion. She would probably do best as an only pet to help keep her comfortable and happy, and in a quieter home without very young kids. Gretel (and her adorable, friendly personality) is just waiting for a stable forever home where she can be loved and love you back in return! KADE is a big, beautiful cream-colored adult male kitty who looks to be some sort of a Siamese mix. He’s estimated to be about 10 years old, and was found as a stray living outside an apartment complex, fending for himself with the help of a good Samaritan who was feeding him. He had been neutered previously with an ear tip. He is now in a loving foster home, and he is still somewhat shy and a bit cautious when giving out his love. As he learns to trust humans again, he is becoming more outgoing – and if his new adopters are gentle and patient, they will be rewarded with a loving companion. Kade does not like other cats at all, and needs to be the only kitty. He is currently on a diet for urinary tract health (he is excellent with his litterbox use). This sweet boy needs a quiet, stable forever home with no young kids and an experienced cat person. Sponsored Adoption?ZOE is a cute and petite little adult black and white tuxedo female kitty about 12 years old. She was brought into a local vet and surrendered as a very frightened and upset kitty – most likely she had been abused in her past. It has taken Zoe about a year to calm down and become more outgoing and affectionate, and she has bonded strongly to her foster mom. She even tolerates strangers now for short sessions of petting. Thus it is likely she will similarly bond to a cat-savvy adopter given plenty of time and TLC. She is absolutely terrified of kids, but does well with her foster mom’s dogs. We do not know how she would do with another kitty. Zoe needs a kind-hearted good Samaritan willing to give this older adult with a difficult past a chance at a new life. Zoe has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. HARRY is a sweet-natured and gentle mature orange tabby male kitty who is about 9 years old. He would make a wonderful companion for older folks in a quiet, stable home. He loves to be petted and he's very affectionate with his people. Please note that he does not like to be petted around his hindquarters, so a household without young children would be best. Harry came from a family who became homeless and sadly had to relinquish their 4 cats who had lived with them since they were kittens. Harry gets along fine with other mellow cats, and he lived peacefully with a gentle, cat-friendly dog. He has tested positive for FIV (the feline immunodeficiency virus), which means that he must be an indoor-only kitty for his lifetime, but he is a healthy boy, and with some precautions to protect his immune system, he will likely lead a normal life. The virus can't be passed to dogs or to people, and only to other cats through a deep bite wound. Won’t you give this loving older kitty the stable forever home he so deserves? Harry has been tested for feline leukemia (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed – plus you get a free vet visit. Meet Habibi (aka “BIBI”), a big, beautiful black/gold/white 4-year-old female kitty with soft fluffy fur, and the coloring of both a tortoiseshell and a calico. You may call her "Queen Habibi" -- she allows her human to pet her super soft fur in moderation, and on her terms. Bibi was relinquished to a local shelter because she sometimes coughs and wheezes due to seasonal asthma. To keep her airways open, Bibi currently receives 1/2 tab prednisolone daily, which she readily accepts via a pill popper or in a pill pocket. It’s also best to use a dust-free litter, such as pellets or corn. She is an extremely enthusiastic eater, so she needs her human to keep an eye on her food intake in order for her weight to remain in the healthy range. Bibi will chase and be chased by her playful cat companions in her foster home, but her reserved personality indicates that she would also do well as an only cat. She would be happiest in a calm household with patient, gentle adults, and possibly older kids. This gorgeous, wonderful girl will bestow you with ankle rubs and lots of love. Are you ready to welcome royalty into your home? Habibi has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet exam. Zuri
ZURI is a soft and silky, solid white young adult female kitty about 3 years old. She is very shy around new people and environments, but once she trusts you and is comfortable in her new environment, Zuri will purr and cuddle with you, sleep on the bed with you each night, and will happily come to you when you put your hand out or when you shake her food dish. She adores petting from individuals she trusts, and sometimes she will reach out a gentle paw to bat at your hand when you stop petting her, to say “more please!” Zuri loves to bat small kitty toys across the floor, but since she will sometimes put new things with her mouth, it is important that she not be given anything chewable. Zuri gets along with calm, cat-friendly dogs, and would probably be okay with gentle, cat-savvy kids age 12 or older. After a slow introduction, she got along OK with some of the other cats in her foster home, but not with others – so she might be happiest as an only cat. Zuri would do best in a calm home, where she can warm up to her surroundings at her own pace. A veterinarian called our rescue group when Zuri’s owner brought her in to euthanize her because she had been living/hiding in their closet for the two years they had her. With patience and gentleness, Zuri has slowly learned that her home can feel safe and has become more confident in exploring it instead of hiding in a closet. She is now looking for a forever home that can provide her with the love and patience she needs to continue to blossom. ZURI has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed – plus you get a free vet visit. Atlas
ATLAS is an extra large, handsome young ginger tabby male kitty about 2 years old. He and his siblings were found abandoned as babies and went to live in a foster home, but Atlas was held back for adoption after he experienced several seizures that seemed to be caused by stress. During the year that he has lived in his current foster home, he has been very healthy, and has only had one seizure (which was precipitated by taking him to the vet). Thus we now use a mobile vet to give him his vaccinations. Atlas is a bit shy with strangers and in new situations, but once he has acclimated, he is very affectionate, loves pets, and purrs readily. After he knows you and trust is established, he'll be putty in your hands. He is good with being picked up, and likes being cuddled in your arms. He is active and playful, and really adores tumbling around with the young cat in his foster home (see video); their play is adorably sweet and gentle, and his foster dad calls Atlas the “Karate Kitty." Atlas is also good with the dog that lives there, and would do best in a quiet household (no toddlers) with at least one other playful young animal for him to buddy up with. As a special needs kitty, Atlas’ adoption fee is only $60 – although a donation to our medical fund is always greatly appreciated. He has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed--plus you get a free vet visit. Hi, I'm DeeCee! Are you looking for an affectionate companion? I might be your girl. I will sit on your lap, and entertain you by allowing you to shine a laser pointer for me to chase. I used to be shy, but now I'm just a little cautious in new situations. I would love to find a family that would lavish attention on me, me me! I'm a beautiful black and white tuxedo kitty and I am just a year and a half old. I was carrying a little extra weight around my middle, but with some careful calorie counting, and a little extra playtime, I have managed to shed most of the excess weight. There is still a little more of me to love, or to warm your lap, but don't let that fool you -- I like to romp and play, and explore. DeeCee was surrendered by her adopters because their other cat was bullying her, and keeping her cornered and stressed. Because of that, DeeCee peed outside of her litterbox. Since being in foster care, she has been treated for a urinary tract infection, and is recovering and using her box regularly. She will need to stay on a urinary tract health food for her lifetime, and she would probably do best as an only cat. DeeCee has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. TAMMY is a shy but very sweet little female kitty about 2 years old with plush black fur. She was born in a feral colony (and spayed with an ear tip), and then was taken into a loving foster home where she slowly learned to trust people. She is active and playful, but may hide when someone walks into the room or moves too quickly towards her. Once you've earned her trust she will purr for hours and enjoys all the chin rubs you can give her. She was adopted into a household with one other young kitty (Tasha), but Tammy is a very dominant kitty with other cats, and Tasha was a bit afraid of her. Tammy and Tasha’s adoptive mom recently died, and they are now living in a foster home where they have been separated. Tammy is still adjusting to the sudden change and even though she really loves to be petted, she will sometimes suddenly growl or hiss. She will need a quiet home without young children. Tammy is a diamond in the rough and with a little TLC, she will be the perfect companion for the right somebody. Tana'i
TANA'I is a beautiful and sweet black and white tuxedo female adult kitty. One veterinarian estimated her age at 3 years old and another at 6 years old but we believe her to be closer to 3. She was found homeless and pregnant and subsequently had her babies after she was rescued. Her kittens grew up and were adopted and Tana'i has been living in a loving foster home learning to trust humans. She loves head pets and chin scritches but is not a "needy" girl -- she would be the perfect kitty companion for someone who works a lot so she can save up her affections. Her favorite toys are a laser light and her stuffed ostrich and she goes completely silly for catnip. She would prefer a quiet home without noisy kids. She does well with other kitties after a proper introduction and might be OK with a respectful dog. She has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed – plus you get a free vet visit. Tana'i is currently in foster care. Her adoption fee is $75 which helps us pay it forward to other neglected and abandoned kitties. To meet her or for more information, call 541-225-4955 option 1 or send an email to www.CatRescues.org. Cuddles
CUDDLES is a beautiful and sweet short-haired black and gray tabby female kitty who is about 13 years old. She was surrendered by her people when they moved away and couldn’t take her with them. It took her time to adjust to her foster home -- she was very scared at first -- but with patience and love, she has proved to be a friendly girl who enjoys gentle petting, ear rubs, and chin scratches. She will be happiest in a quiet home with a cat-savvy adopter, and low spots for her to hang out in and nap in. She’s been thoroughly checked out by a vet, and other than some minor arthritis in her hips, she is in excellent health. Once she has bonded to you, she loves to lie on your chest or legs, especially in bed at night, but not necessarily on your lap. She may give you an appreciative lick during petting or knead you with soft paws. She enjoys DaBird wire toy for play. She prefers you don’t touch her feet, but once she trusts you, she is good with being brushed. Won’t you give this sweet older lady a place to live out her golden years? CUDDLES has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Her adoption fee is $60, which allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for other abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. She is currently in foster care; for information on how to meet this kitty, please call 541-225-4955 option 1 or send an email to adoptinfo@CatRescues.org. Then submit an adoption application that can be found online (www.CatRescues.org/forms) or a paper copy available at the Petsmart catteries. A volunteer will follow-up for the next steps. Foster Parents Needed
[PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE ARE ALL PICTURES OF CATS THAT ARE ALREADY IN FOSTER CARE] West Coast fosters give their kitties lots of TLC and attention. Because of that, we have very well socialized cats that are readily adopted. BUT, we have reached capacity with our fosters. We need more fosters to help fulfill our mission of helping rescue special needs animals. Fosters are provided with all the food, bedding and litter the cat needs. We also pay all their medical expenses. Your part is to give them love and attention and how hard can that be? This is the perfect opportunity to have a pet without a life time commitment. Fostering lasts anywhere from one week to several months and YOU get to choose whether you foster bottle babies, kittens or adult cats AND how many. If you live in the Eugene/Springfield, Oregon area and have love to spare for these kitties, please call 541-225-4955. 6/19/18 7:18 PM
